I concur with your initial asessment. Not to dump the whole truckload on Obama. Starting with Reagan spending began cranking up. Reagan outspent the soviets on military spending and the Dem congress increased domestic. GB got smacked with the 1st Gulf War, and more Dem congress spending. Clinton gutted the military and increased domestic until stopped by a Rep congress. GW...well he had 9/11, Iraq, Afghan, and Katrina to deal with plus the abismal Medicare Part D. Obama just doubled down on it all.

Another reason is the baby boomers coming of age, and all these "promises" that were made, but the "trust fund" was robbed and not managed properly.

As for Ron Paul...and dont get me wrong I WILL vote for him vs Obama..but his foreign policy is horrendous.

All by design. The destruction of the middle class is well under way. Look for big cuts in all entitlements including social security and huge increases in electric bills in the next several months. Cut back on everything now so it's not such a big shock later.....

The trend is positively EXPLODING. There are over 44 million people on food stamps! Look at how fast the middle class is being pushed into POVERTY.

Couple that with the people losing unemployment benefits and not finding work. Just last week, 1.5 million people were ejected off unemployment and into despair and destitution.

Our way of life is being destroyed. MILLIONS of people will be living in tent cities and under bridges. I do not hear politicians addressing this--neither side.

The entire governmental system of the United States is dirty and corrupted. You can focus all your energy and hate on the Pres but our system is about big business and big $. The system totally collapsed under Bush and we threw $$$$ and we are still throwing $$$$$$$$$$$ at it. The middle class has lost hope ,in most of the country. The game of "if we can elect @!!##*** everything will get better". Same old song and dance. Most people could care less about politics or aren't aware of anything political. Those that are into to it follow it more like my team vs. your team.

Not excusing Bush..are you kidding me? Whos the moron? Obama pissed away the vast majority of the stimulus money with only 6% making it to actual projects. That was 800 Billion and where did it go? Surely not the deficit or debt. And lets not forget the Affordable Healthcare Act that is going to cost into the future. IMHO the last two idiots in office have sunk America. We've all been sold out by both the Fed and greed on our parts. Nothing is for free, and you can steal everyones income and property and have a free society or one that will work.

Clinton- Ends Glass-Stegall. Ushers in GATT & NAFTA. Comtinues looting of Social Security, Military and Federal pension trusts. Continues DU wars and this time in the Balkans supporting Al Queda.

Dubya- More DU wars with trillions spent on Iraq War II and Afghanistan. Fair Housing Act of 2005, the collapse agent of the global credit system. Uptick rule removed allowing unbridled shorting of the stock market.

Obama- an utter dooshbag. As you can see that I'm getting a little tired of compiling what everyone should already know.

If you look at a chart of the history of debt ceiling increases, all but TWO years from 1985 to now were increased (though NOWHERE at the level of Pelosi and Reid.) The ONLY years were there was no increase was when Republicans controlled House and Senate under Clinton. That's the only time the republicans had that much control and for two years we lived within our means. It CAN be done.

Before and after that time, we've been self-destructing. The Democrats have controlled the pursestrings almost totally and have spent us into bankruptcy. In my state (CT) the Democrats have had a veto-proof majority for 34 YEARS and we are BROKE. Not a sliver of blame can be laid on the Republicans. And as broke as we are, what did we do? We elected the Democrats right back in to finish us off financially.

WE HAVE GOT TO BE THE MOST STUPID PEOPLE ON THE PLANET. WE DESERVE WHAT'S COMING.

Take no offense please! I volunteer almost 10 hrs. a month to help people in my area (San Diego), and I am trying harder to get more Hrs. in a month to help people, doesn't seem like much time, but once you start to find time you will see how hard it is to find the time.
