the well= earth

the ocean= the cosmos

That is why this is a metaphor, not a literal writing. There are some things that some minds cannot comprehend, so they do not challenge themselves to understand it. Rather, they would deny its existence, than take the effort to discover its Truth.

I think it is more a statement about perspective.

I disagree, the well frog was accepted in the ocean frogs realm. The well frog never fathomed that he belonged, he was a FROG! If the well frog fathomed that he fit in, he would not have been overwhelmed and exploded, he would still be jumping Lilly pads. Instead of placing a light burden on his shoulders he placed an over bearing burden on his shoulders thus the collapse to death. I have a friend whose motto is:
