Swearing
I'm going to stop swearing as from today, in fact as from now. I swear too much even in front of kids, it's lazy and a short cut for not articulating what I want to say. It makes me look dumb, stupid and feel drained of positive energy......
Anyone else want to join me, apparently it's just a bad habit that can be broken.

In light of the more pressing and important threads, I'll come back to this another day I think, hope all of you guys that have experienced quakes today are safe. Keep safe and take care

You are so right not to cuss in front of children; but other than that, there's a time and a place for a good cuss now and then!!!!!

Just so we don't overdo it!!!!!

Re: Swearing
I'm with you. I used to cuss, but no longer. It really bothers some people to hear cusswords, so it's best just to stop cussing at all. Showing respect to others feels SO MUCH better than being disrespectful. Try it sometime, you'll see/feel what I mean.

Re: Swearing
I was outside the other day and heard a man berating his child with swears. Horrible way to teach children or communicate to them when they've done things wrong. It was all so 'negative'. I've been guilty of that when my kids were younger but no more, it just doesn't help at all and lowers your childs respect for you.

Re: Swearing
Great thread, thanks for posting! You made me think about something in a new way.

As of late, I've noticed my language is approaching that of a pirate's. Mostly, it is when I am agitated and trying to make a point about the state of the world. That whole mindset is a waste of energy, but worse still is the profanity I use to try to overstate my point. Like you say, just like that, I become an idiot. Not to mention the negative energy...

I'm with you. I start today!

So far so good, I really have had to stay focused and slowdown my thinking so I can find the words, life is so full on sometimes swearing for me has become a lazy shorthand
