People West and North of the fall line (that runs NE to SW - "The Piedmont") didn't feel anything. This includes Atlanta and North GA Area . People East of the fall line did (from Central Georgia to the Coast - "The Coastal Plain". This includes Macon, Augusta, Savannah. [link to quake.eas.gatech.edu] |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 454829 United States 08/23/2011 03:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There was a 2.8 aftershock an hour ago in Virginia... Thread: After shock???2.8 now in virgina.. This is probably the reason I was still dizzy then. And since I'm still feeling badly, there must be some more after shocks to come. |

The fall line theory might make sense except for the N GA posters, I live near Augusta but just above the fall line and I didn't feel it. On the other hand, I live near a quarry and very active train tracks so I may have just tuned it out. |
