I grew up in Virginia, but now live in New Mexico. My mom just called me a few minutes ago, freaking out about the earthquake. She lives in Richmond. Well, we just had that quake right on the NM/CO border last night.

Kind of got the chills when I got my mom's message and she was talking about an earthquake in Richmond! And then I see on USGS that it's a 5.9. Feeling a little scared right now.

Nothing he said came true. Nothing.

We felt it in Milwaukee Wisconsin on the 13th floor downtown. Minor shaking for like 15 seconds. No one knew what it was. Thought we were loosing it or something but a few of us felt it.

I'm in Norfolk, Virginia (near the airport) and our house (one-story ranch) shook hard. Saw several things on table tops rocking and rolling and thought they were going to topple. We have a new crack on our living ceiling.

I'm told that they scrambled the fighters at our nearby navy bases.

Felt it here in Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia....NNW of epicenter. I was at the kitchen peninsula counter and felt a slight rumbling in my body and then the dining room hanging light started swaying slightly as well as the two pendant lights at the counter where I was standing that shook for a few seconds. Pretty strange. First time for me. Must have been much stronger east of me.
