Not saying it's impossible, but you might not realize how we mountan people watch out for each other, and the protection we have at hand. That is one reason Watcher and her husband know they can make the offer they have. I promise you there are people that they don't even know personally, that would respond with help and protection should they ever need it. Danny's cousin Mike who lives 50 mi. away etc.. Thank you for your concern; however, this is not about "meeting up" but about helping those in need who may be forced to evacuate from a natural disaster and who do not have the means to stay at a hotel for a day or two. I think it is important for those out there to know that there are people here willing to help. Request to help those in need do NOT need your approval. But thanks anyway!

P.S. If you loose your attitude, we might be willing to help you too should you need it! Just don't forget your $8.00 for the "Doomstock" t-shirt!

By the way, I used my karma points to pin this the first time to get the word out but others have pinned it since then. You cannot control who pins what if they use their own points to do so. What is the point of pinning what you deem important if the mods can still tell you what you can and can't pin? Just askin'

Helping others is a spiritual matter, NOT a GLP matter but I appreciate this forum and the far-reaching ability it provides to let others know I am here to help if needed.

Thanks to this thread, for example, I was able to meet a local GLPer today at a Farmers Market and I can tell you, if this person is any indication of the kind of people here on GLP, they are ALL welcome at my house. We will deal with the bad apples as we find them. We are more than capable of doing so!
