This is not good. I heard a Hurricane like this would flood Manhattan and Long Island completely.

Dude, I like live on manhattan, a block from the river, if it floods 30 feet, my apartment is like under water and that is very possible, and it would so suck.

manhattan is more hilly than u think. it is far from flat so that will limit the damage, but long Island is totally flat, and those houses are very old, very expensive, built in the 50's and 60's a lot of them, there was a lot of graft in the quality of construction, wonder how the ac casinos got so big that is how;0

The storm will hit as a 3 to a 2 and a 1 as it goes up the hudson,

Which did tremendous damage to Long Island, CT, and Northern New England.

Check out slide 9. Almost all the models have it making Landfall at or near NC and then slaming in the rest of the way up the coast.

I imagine this will be one of the knarliest evacuations the northen east coast has seen as far as aircraft.

A catagory 4 hurricane hitting or even just skimming the coast and barreling up slamming along the coast all the way up to wards the Jersey shores can do a lot of damage to coastal airports, let alone boats. The Chesapeake Bay has so many yaghts right in this hurricanes crosshairs.

We could see some wide spread catastrohic damage from this hurricane, I'll even go as far to say we have the potential here of seeing damage of biblical proportions.

it's a relatively slow mover,so it won't be able to sustain much strength by the time it gets here(ny) cat 1 maybe,but most likely a tropical storm


but still,LOTS of rain,after 2 weeks of A LOT of rain already,add some wind,and you got a bunch of trees down

cat 1 is no picnic, especially with a monsterous sized slow moving storm...

if a "long island express" type storm hit now,we'd be pretty screwed

I really hope it doesn't cause much damage here in NJ, but who knows. After today's lovely quake, I'm not marking anything as impossible. I'll be following the tracking as the days go by. Hope everyone stays safe, and it plays out a lot different than we're discussing.
