I watched this video and looked at the map. There is a possibility it could actually hit NYC. It is crazy there is a TV show about it. How would this effect Wall Street if it got wiped out?

I was in East Hampton during Hurricane Bob in 1991 at my Aunt's house, they just built it, and they kept the windows shut, not equalizing the pressure and the house moved, you could feel the pressure twisting the place, well they opened the windows, a smidge.

The eye went right over, and had they been on the right, east side, it would have been bye new home. for the east side of the hurricane is much stronger than the west side. In any event, it is coming

Hurricane Irene gained strength Tuesday night and is now a Category 3 storm on the Saffir-Simpson scale. The storm is projected to reach the East Coast beginning Friday and into the weekend, and already authorities are telling New York area residents to be on alert.

This is a potentially dangerous situation for a lot of people, and I don't think that many people in New York are aware of just how dangerous it could be...
Most of the information I could find about New York being susceptible to flooding is in relation to Global Warming dangers and an increase in severe storms.

This map, [link to www.accuweather.com] is showing a possible CAT 2 when it hits NYC. If I were in NYC I would probably think about leaving or at least being prepared. Flooding could be a major issue if there is a lot of precipitation.

I wouldn't think about it, I would just leave.

Manhattan is the last place in the United States you want a Hurricane to hit, whether its a Category 2 or even a 1.
