it's not the children

it's the government and the quality of teachers

i taught for over a decade in primary schools and loved every minute

In fact, one night I woke myself up after having a dream about how to teach my kids Phi without the "just becauser it is" affect.

it's not for everyone, but when you see their lights "go on" for the first time understanding something, it's like a mini-miracle.

given, there is the fair percentage of teachers that should not be in the game.

i think people should be able to pick their classroom teachers for their children... weed out that bad SOBs

Educating children is not as easy as people think. 4 years of University, and many years of trial and error. The good teachers I know don't believe in any form of socialisation, just the education of known facts and portable information in the travels of life.

In saying that I have also seen the opposite. But, like any bad boy, I "rebelled" and taught them they way I wanted anyway.... I even convinced a new Principal I had "permission" from the old Principal, to get rid of the desks for half the year and have beanbags.... Grin... (it backfired... cause we all got crook necks...)

Peace out:

It is a factory to produce the future consumers of the products. Might as well open up a SuperWalmart School. It all is the same. They do not teach you anything in school. Only how to compete to be NUMBER 1 step on them! Burn out their minds with bullshit. Public schools are like being inside a box. Just to go to school you got to inject your kids with all these vaccines fill out all these paper work.

Then you come to find out you make too much for free lunch but you get reduced lunch. Your kid eats that awesome french bread pizza for pizza day and he has the blue dot under his tray. So he wins some carrot cake. Meanwhile the shy kid brought lunch his mom made. The big bullies want to have his food,he can't defend himself he is too small. The staff don't do anything even the kids are too big for them. They ignore and slowly but surely the school prison ends up producing things other than students.

We don't produce any of the products you by,but we make the STUDENTS that buy them.

in all fairness - i loved my 6th grade teacher - cried when school was out - she did too...

had many more who caused harm though...

there are good teachers - and the local school board should hire and fire them...and make policies...not the feds!

I loved my primary school, most teachers were great and I can think back to my year 4 teacher and say for certain that he really made me man the fuck up. I.e "sir i feel sick" , "go die quietly in the corner then"

As harsh as it may seem, he was a brilliant teacher.

Then came high school, and on the first day I asked where the entrance was to 2 teachers stood at the gate. He told me and I said alright thanks a lot, went to walk off. A tall skinny 6 ft 10 or so arsehole of a teacher said ITS THANK YOU, SIR.

From that day I basically couldn't give a fuck for school, and thinking back it's kind of like being inducted into marines, where the arse hole screams at you...

Also, thinking back, it would be far more beneficial had i spent my schooling years learning a trade, or actually working - Instead of spending some 1:30 hours a day stuck in the playground, and the rest of the day stuck doing Geography, French, R.E , History and whatever else they could think up that would have absolutely no use in later life.

The school system is a fucking sham that gives you a whole load of worthless crap that isn't beneficial, sprinkled with a nice big helping of YOU WILL OBEY AUTHORITY. Makes me sick.

the competition in school is insane - throw each other under the bus...

if there is a top performer...there's the bottom - hall of shame...

Lol, so true. I always hated school, not because I didn't do well, but because I did too well, without much effort. And so I got the nerd label. Killed my spirit for school and I learned more outside school than in. It sucked, really. I also asked too many questions, for that and adopting a freakishly redneck accent to avoid being asked to read aloud in class. So they shipped me off to speech class, lmao. I think they just wanted me out of the cell for a while. My voice is my job now, cracks me up.
