Why is the bible so confusing. Shouldn't it be simple to understand so all people can follow?

You are so correct.The bible should be easy to read and it is, really. The problem is in all of the different versions and different ways of expressing what is in the bible.

Which is the right bible? Which one is the Word of God? Would God make his Word difficult to understand? No he wouldn't and is why the Authorized King James Version in English of course, was used to teach English across the world as well as to teach scriptures.

The English written in the KJV bible is filth grade level English. It has thees and thous and hath and words like those because many of the world's languages use specific words for second, third person and plural.

When those words are used then it becomes clear when a person is being referred to or many people and exactly who is being addressed or being talked about.

The bible uses bible English and once one gets the sense of the few words that are different then it becomes super simple to understand.

There is one snag, as it were in that if one looks at the bible with a wrong attitude or without faith then the truth will be hidden. If you read the bible with an open heart and faith then the bible will become clear as a bell through the Holy Spirit. When you read the bible it ill be as if a veil was lifting and all is crystal clear.

You don't need anyone explaining the bible or interpreting it. The Holy Spirit will do that.

SOME of it would be reasonably 'applicable' to your situations, but much of it would be so far from what you could see actually going on (under the hood, say) that it could only BE confusing...

Who do you think "wrote" the Bible and how do you think the "churches' have been making a living off the people for so long ... Same story with the politicians and lawyers regarding "laws" and "regulations".

To you it's a big parable, it's all confusing and stuff because it's not been given you to understand, probably because you're very horrible people, that's usually the case.
If you surrender you will get know all the stuff, it's awesome.

Have you read the bible though. Not being read the bible, not being told about the bible, but actually physically sitting down and reading a whole book of the bible? It is actually quite straight forward.

The bible is written from God's point of view, not man's, the original texts were written so that the people could understand it, trouble is that it was written for people 3000 years ago.

We too, try to read the bible according to our own 'Greek' culture, but the bible is written in 'Hebrew' culture.

Greeks condemn people for not achieving set goals, ignoring what the bits they have achieved, only looking at what they have not done.

Hebrews congratulate people for what they have achieved, and help them to achieve more.

'Greek' culture looks at the abstract, 'Hebrew' culture looks at the 'concrete'.

Also, most of the translations are very limited....

If you are really serious about reading the bible, you need to ask the Lord to send the holy spirit to help you. If you are saved already, then you already have the holy spirit living in you so all you have to do is ask God to give you wisdom as you are reading. Unsaved people can't just pick up the bible and start reading and understand everything they are reading.

When I was an atheist, I decided to pick up a bible and read it and see what the "hoopla" was about. Needless to say, that lasted about 5 minutes. (Several different times)I didn't have a christian to seek advice from back then. Some people can come on here and bash christians all they want to but some people really appreciate the knowledge and wisdom that some christians have.

Once I got saved and then picked up my bible, it was a totally different story. I'm not talking "mind" saved, but to be "heart" saved. There is a difference in the two. After that, I couldn't get enough of the word. It was like milk to baby!

Jesus often spoke in parables. The prophecies use symbols that transcend time. Also some have been blinded by their own willful rejection. Once the person accepts the Holy Spirit guides for better understanding.

Forget the bible and religion, but take these three valuable words from it:

Love thy neighbor.

all religion's beliefs (including the 'bible') are opinions, assumptions and very confusing. the writers wrote it that way.

Religion and politics follow the same model, obey or face the consequences. They are the same thing, and neither has much to do with freedom but everything to do with control.

They say that once they become a christian, the holy spirit enters them and translates for them and that this is how it was meant to be for them.
