Hurricane Irene in Adam's Family movie....

I am wondering what the book details are...if there is something in it worth noting...for immediate future reference.

Hurricane Ike was in A Series of Unfortunate Events. But it was more subtle.

Hurricane Ike made landfall on September 1, 2008. In the movie, that debuted in 2004, there is a character in the movie named Ike. The thing is, he died because he did something he wasn't supposed to do: he entered the WATER 45 minutes after he ate, but he was supposed to wait ONE (1)hour. So, because Ike entered the waters too soon, he died.

4+5=9 (September, the ninth month and when Hurricane Ike arrived). After 1 hour: the time the character, Ike, was supposed to enter the water corresponds to the day Hurricane made landfall: the 1st. Four years after the movie, A Series of Unfortunate Events, debuted, a category 4 hurricane, named Ike, made landfall whose sustained winds were approximately 145 mile p/hr. There are your numbers 1 and 45 again: the character, Ike, was supposed to wait 1 hour to enter the waters; instead, he waited only 45 minutes.

There is a lot of information in their movies, but you have to be pretty astute to catch most of it.

What the hell would that have to do with the Addams Family movie?? If there was an Irene in 1999, great, but that would still be predictive programming because the movie came out in '91.

Seriously people? Off the top of your heads, how many names beginning with the letter "I" can you come up with, and remembering that prior to just recently pretty much all names were basically European origin, and at one time even female only.

Of course they have to reuse names, and they always have EXCEPT as it's been pointed out in cases where a storm has been particularly devastating in a historical scale. Then that name is retired.

The fact that twenty years ago a movie came out mentioning a named hurricane and eight years later that name came up with a real storm, as it did again twenty years later, doesn't mean anything other than that it's bound to happen eventually.

Now, if in 1991 they made a movie and set in in 2011, and in that movie a hurricane named Irene hit, THEN you'd have something. This though... you really have to be kidding or just stretching it to try to create something to grasp onto to.

Good point. I guess the extent of damage it causes will be the real tell of whether or not it's truly a "nightmare from above."

This storm needs to be kept in context, though I realize this is a nice doomy-type site. This is the first hurricane to make landfall in the U.S. in a few years, which while a good thing for coastal residents, really sucks for all of the experts who keep predicting more and bigger hurricanes as well as for those who "sell the news".

They're going to play this thing up and try to raise as much panic as possible with what it "could do", because they haven't had enough chances to do this lately for their tastes. Panic means numbers and numbers means dollars to the media.

When this is over, we'll here about how lucky every one was, and even that will be played up as if the media or even the government itself was responsible for keeping it from being "as bad as it could have been."

There sure seems to be alot of these lately, Cage in the movie Knowing, with the Gulf oil rig blow out, but this is good find OP.

Of course there have been like 6 hurricane Irenes in US history of named storms but I'm sure they meant this one ( back in 1993 )
