Re: >>>>Sustainable Living PLUS Canning and Dehydrating Food<<<<
Hi Tauranga, hope you are well and happy!

Hi TG, hope you are also well and happy. Sounds like you had yet another busy day and spent it thinking of others and doing for others.

My day was real laid back. A transformer blew to this area this morning so the day was without electricity. Pupster and I had a great day outside, but all day I kept thinking about a thread I said I'd be back to. Was afraid to run the computer on a generator so was just tossing over whether to take a chance on it when the electricity came back on.

Really glad to not have to turn on the generator. Don't know that much about them and it's not the kind where it just takes over on it's own. You have to do things to make sure you don't fry an electric worker when the power comes back, and take heavy energy sucking things off, and rotate things so everything isn't running at once. Anyway, I like the quiet. 8)

Was concerned about the camper dude because there's no way his electric heater would work so I disconnected him and put a little propane heater that uses 2 bottles out there. Maybe it'll motivate him to seek other shelter. 8)

There was a rush hour here. Had a couple neighbors come to get water from my hand pump and another borrowed some wood. They were getting pretty chilly so I told them they could come back tonight but bring their own bedding. That would have sucked for everyone, but in a way it would feel better to have people I know, than to be in the dark, knowing a camper dude that I've never seen is living in the pitch dark within walking distance of my house.

So, it was a great day!

glad the power came back on. um, camper dude? i know i am missing a tale here.

you are very kind to share with others and to invite them in. many people would not do so. what a sweetie you are!!!

give pupster a big hug from auntie TG and here's a hug for you, my friend.hugsss

oh, dad and i were talking about baby pigs today. he thinks i'm a fruit loop thinking they smell good. i laughed at him. baby pigs smell divine. seriously.

i'm glad the day is almost over, i'm really tired and am trying not to drink coffee to stay awake long enough to go to bed. does that make sense? anyway, i only have to stay up until 8pm to get mom something to snack on before she takes the last of her med. she didn't take any painkillers today for her arm, i'm so glad it's getting better. she used the computer today while i had dad at chemo, so i know she's almost over the pain.

LOL. Pupster discovered that someone is living in our camper. It's all good though. Have never seen him. He's gone each day and sleeps there at night. I collect his trash once a week. He'll be moving on when the weather breaks.

It's almost 8 right now. Flop a granola bar and an apple on a plate and go to bed. I'm glad her arm is better and want to someday hear that you had a day of rest and are feeling great yourself. Not fighting sleep til you can get to bed.

Pupster returns the hug and sends one to Sam man. So do I. Now go to bed and get a great nite's sleep!

None of this:

Just caught up with everyone, sorry I missed you. Hubs and I went to the big city (LOL) to eat and then picked up youngest from work. I'd have been on sooner, but the computer had other ideas...updates! Hope you all had a great day, it sounds like you did. I'll catch up with you all in the daylight!

Forgot...has anyone heard from Mama lately? Or have I just missed her?

Oh, good...thanks, T. I didn't think to look.

Nine's, nope he's still gone. He didn't touch his food, so I'll have to throw it out tomorrow. It's supposed to blow dust tomorrow, so if he's going to show up that'll be when. In the kennel with him this time, the ingrate!

Nines I got an email today that had pictures of different shots of puppies, made me think of you.

My favorite was a siberian husky pup sleeping on the bottom shelf of a frig with the door open. All the other food was on the other shelves and he was just curled up looking as comfy as could be.

guys, I need some info. I finally broke down and bought some col. silver. Does it have a taste? Do I need to get my "YICKS" ready or what? I can't smell, so I don't know if it'll gross me out or not. I know that sounds weird, but I'm serious. I have a thing about yucky tastes.

TB, I am glad you had a nice night out with the hubby.

I was going to make a heart shaped meatloaf, standard valentines day issue around here, but my son wanted sabrett hotdogs and all the fixins, so I told him I had no buns bring them home. Well he came home at almost 8 pm, so hubby and I had leftover ribs and rice, which in my opinion was better than the hotdogs.

That's too funny, Flav! We were just talking about Drendwire's saurkraut and how our mom's used to fix hot dogs in the kraut. I don't like it that way. Now I need a brat and kraut fix. Maybe later this week.

no, almost no taste, we squirt it straight into our mouths for sore throats and anything else. I have found that its great for itchy bites too..

i use it on dog and chickens even..

Thanks, Nine's. I got some already in ionized water. I'm getting tired of mixing stuff already. I can't beat this sinus infection, probably 'cause of the weather. It was almost 70 today after the 20's on Sunday. I'm going to take some before I go to bed.

Thanks, T. My nose isn't totally stuffed up and I didn't smell anything, but I'm a big chicken about new stuff. If you've ever watched the tv show MASH, Alan Alda was always sniffing his food before he ate it. I'm not that bad, but for some reason if it's something like medicine, I have to know if it's yucky first. Then I have something else that tastes good right away after! Probably a carry over from when I was a kid.

Sinus infections hurt and are hard to get rid of. Do you have an atomizer that you can "snort" (haha) some sea salt water? Do you like onions? Could you fix a sandwich with a big slice of onion, sniff it while you're at it, and leave the cut onion in your bedroom tonight?

Too plugged up for saline, I've used it before and I know what will happen right now. Too gross to talk about! Raw onions and I have disagreements, but I could set one out tonight. I'm just tired of this crud coming and going. We keep passing it back and forth with the rest of the county! This too shall pass...eventually. Thanks, everyone for the advice. I appreciate it!

Yeah, that's the thing. So many things for sinus either raise the blood pressure or don't do well with other things. No, you SURE don't want pneumonia. Might be a good idea to start taking a T. a day of local honey til the nasties season lets up. Might help and shouldn't do any harm....unless you're diabetic. LOL.
