Re: >>>>Sustainable Living PLUS Canning and Dehydrating Food<<<<
I know that's true, Flav, but there just comes a time when enough is enough and I've reached that point with him. I told my mom the latest things he said and I told her I'm done with him. When we come home to visit, I don't care if I see him or not. I know he'll put a spin on it to make himself look like the injured party, he always does, but I really AM done. He's the executor of my parent's wills and I have always known how that will come out. When my little bro was still alive, we talked about it. Big bro knew he had to behave then, but now it's just me and him. I'm glad I don't need or want my folks stuff. I wonder what he's going to do when he realizes, they are almost out of their retirement money. Next year it'll be just SS for them and I'm worried about it. We don't have anything much to help them out. Bro will do like he did with my grandma. He'll just start buying all their stuff.

Oh, Flav...I'm sorry I didn't explain properly. It's not my little family...it's back in Ohio. That's part of the reason my bro and I are having a "war". As much as I miss it, I'll never move back there. Maybe closer, but not there.

He will have to live with himself at some point and see the error of his ways. Karma's a bitch, you just do what you know is right, thats how you can sleep well at night.

My husbands family has a simular situation going on, we are the only ones who talk to everyone. My husband used to get very upset about it, but he has come to see that nothing is going to change and its not worth the energy to try to make it right.

His sister takes all his moms money and fills her head with all sorts of crap that just isnt true. We have straightened that out with his mom, and she even caught her daughter trying to pull a fast one, but still does nothing about it. Makes me sick to watch it.

Last yr when she had an aneyrism (sp) she had to go back a month later for surgery to repair it and she wanted my husband and his sister (who she lives with) to redo the will into a trust and make them co executers in the event of her death or disability to pay her own bills thereafter, well, her husband had an irrevocable trust drawn up and it gave only his sister full authority over everything, including co owned stock brokerage accts that mom apparently set up for all the kids some time ago. She insisted on having pete there to sign also and when we read it and told her what it was she was so upset she burst into tears, than rage, she was shaking so bad we ended up taking her home and signing nothing. Her surgery was the following morning and we had to draw one up ourselves and do it before taking her in for surgery. It was really hard to sit there with her in the hospital waiting room that day.

How could someone try to screw their mother out of all her money like that, makes me sick. She owns half of the house that they live in, and pays part of the mtg and part of the utilities. Lately she has been paying the car ins for both of their cars and other bills that she shouldnt be paying.

All the while she is bitching that shes broke, and I just couldnt take it any more (I take her out to lunch every few weeks just to get her out of the house), so I told her if she didnt like paying for all that she shouldnt, she said they couldnt afford it, and I said well, then she should not get a manicure every saturday, get her hair dyed, and get her eyelashes dyed every three weeks.

For cryin out loud if your broke do you do those things, or do you buy a bottle of nailpolish and do it yourself for god sakes.

How do we end up with siblings like that? We didn't have much growing up, but we didn't know any better. We had a good house, food on the table. Ok, I had to wear some of big bro's hand me downs for winter play, but so what! His old coat was WAY warmer than my little girl coat, so I could stay out longer. I just really don't understand how one kid could weazel into trying to take everthing, even before our parents are gone. I would so much rather play another duet with my gram just one more time. I would love to argue with my little bro about his lousy taste in women again. He had an uncanny knack of calling at supper time, he'd always forget about the time difference! How is it one kid out of three can be so damned greedy? We used to joke about it when we were kids, that he was worse than Scrooge, but wow!

Ok...I'll quit this line, I didn't mean to be such a downer. It's just been building for a week and it wanted out. Tomorrow is going to be another day...a VERY dusty, windy one if the weather guys are right, so...later I'll tell you about the heirloom seed companies I found a few days ago. One of them has a tea collection! AND peanut seeds. I don't want to be sad anymore and I sure as heck didn't mean to open other's wounds. Sorry just doesn't seem to be the right word, it's just the only one I've got. grouphug

Just checked in before going to bed. Glad I did. Don't you dare apologize for sharing. You think everyone doesn't have things they would like to talk about but don't? Maybe you opened the door to help them. Trouble is trouble, and trouble shared is trouble lightened. Anyone who already has the wounds feels their rawness all the time. You certainly don't open them. Get a good nights sleep, and thank you for sharing!

Yes, Auntie Nine's!! We've got to plan a whole day, start to finish. Think of something good to do, in the sunshine, I might even introduce you to George, Mary, Elizabeth and Jane!!!LOL That'll take all of 5 minutes! When I have a better idea of when we're coming up there, I'll let you know. I'm really worried about gas prices, though. We HAVE to get up there though to see the family. Hub's dad has alzheimer's and it's starting to get worse. He needs to spend time with him while dad's memory is still there and his bil has bad cancer from agent orange. He only has a few months to live, according to the docs. Too many with bad health. It's a now or never kind of situation this year. I didn't get to say goodbye to gramps, gram or little bro. I'm not letting that happen again.

Tomorrow, seeds!

Last summer my neighbor planted peanuts that he bought from publix (grocery store) in the produce dept, they grew great and he got a 5 gal paint can full of them. I am going to plant some peppermint thru the garden, I hear bugs dont like it and my husband loves peppermint tea, so it is dual purpose.

He expanded the garden yesterday by about another 20x20, I feel a backache coming on!

lol Sounds like great fun TB. Looking forward to meeting that shyster George. LOL.

Will take some juggling and a pet sitter to get a whole day. You might have to suffer through dinner here. If so, I'll give you a net that you can scoop chickens away from your dinner plate.

You in the mood for perch. You like something simple like Jolly Rogers or a little more refined, like Mon Ami or????

We've got plenty of time to ponder it.

Yes, gas prices are getting really high. I hope it won't be so bad then, but it's looking real likely, isn't it? The world is so uncertain that it's hard to even plan 3 months ahead, not knowing what will come up in the meantime. But, we can dream and plan, huh? 8)

no, it would have been her third. she's doing okay right now. we're all sad, but these things happen. her husband is taking it very hard, he had just started being happy with the situation.

the doctor said it stopped growing at about 5 weeks, which is usually a dna issue. nature has a way of dealing with these problems.

thank you so much for caring about me and mine. my daughter is a wonderful person and she is smart enough to understand that these thing happen and strong enough to handle it mentally and emotionally. i do love her.

Re: >>>>Sustainable Living PLUS Canning and Dehydrating Food<<<<
I don't know your families beliefs, but this is what I told a young mother once and what I've found comfort in.

Some years back, around this time of year, I had a short dream. I like to watch old movies and the dream had that kind of flavor to it. It seemed to me that God was sitting on a large, throne-like chair. There were all sorts of clouds forming stairways of sorts and there were all ages of children playing on them and running up and down. The stairways had platforms of clouds for them to play on, too. Several toddlers were climbing all over God to sit on his lap. He was holding a small infant, while the toddlers were after his attention. It was very happy and a sort of peaceful kind of chaos. If you've ever tried to hold more than one child on your lap, you'll understand the picture.

Like I told the mother, I've never read any of this in the Bible, but it's what I believe and have found comfort in this dream. I hope this will help. At least, there is a visual picture for them. Lot's of love for all of the babies.
