What great news about your Mom, TB. She must be so excited. It will be a lot easier on your Dad, and hopefully you too. Guess when you're probably exchanging one struggle with another, but maybe soon it won't seem like such an effort, hopefully. You must surely be exhausted. Worry itself will wear a person out, and when you add stress and physical work to it, it's a hard row to hoe. Take care of yourself!!

HI NINES!!!!!!
How are you? So good to see you! How are the pups doing? Is the beagle behaving?
Isn't pupster a German Shepard? That is our family favorite breed! We would love to get one eventually but may have to go the smaller dog route like Dachshound! LOL

Hi Mama! Doing great, thanks for asking, and I hope you are too. The pups are awesome. So full of life, fun, energy and importance. LOL. Yes, pupster is a German Shepherd. It's my favorite breed too!

The beagle is behaving. Poor little guy. He's a little love bug and funny as can be. He can sure be a nasty little snot though. LOL. He'll run up and grab a toy from pupster and when pupster tries to get it back, Little Dog has more courage than brains. So I have to hustle over and pull a snarling beagle off a Shepherd that is looking puzzles at what his problem is. As pupster matures, he's not going to stand for that. I've been giving Little Dog a "time out" when he does it, so he is getting better. Going to call the vet next week about neutering him and that should help too.

All in all, he's working out. It almost makes you laugh just looking at the dogs standing side by side. One so big and one so little. Pupster gets scolded for trying to "pick up" Little Dog. If LD doesn't go where he wants him to, he tries to carry him. He listens well though, so it's not a big problem, but I just hate to see it. Those giant jaws could snap Little Dogs back just playing. But he's getting more gentle with him.

Guess you didn't want a book. Gosh, thanks for asking. LOL!!

Hi, guys! Mom is doing ok. She's really getting around pretty well. She did pick up a cold at the home, though and dad is coughing more the last 2 days, too. Some of dad's cough is connected to the throat cancer he had a year ago.

Great to hear about your Mom TB. She's probably going to need a lot of help even after she gets home, so take care of yourself.

That's the suckiest thing about medical places. Seems you always get something. I hope your Dad does ok with the cold and hope you don't get it. With asthma, that cold can easily be pneumonia.

I'm picturing you picking out one letter at a time typing. LOL. But, if you're as fast at that as texting, it can't be bad. Dang, flying fingers. LOL!

Hahaha. Now don't go second guessing that generous gift Mom. If it bothers you, think how it must bother him. Nothing a nice gift of a new one wouldn't cure though. LOL.

Figured you'd be running ragged. Hope it lightens up for you soon. You don't want to have your resistance down and come down with something. Sometimes people don't understand that it's "just a cold" when every breath you're trying to take is a major effort. LOL.

Ok, I will try to get pics tomorrow. We arent getting them until about 5:30 and by the time we get back home it may be dark. I have alot of questions to ask this guy since I dont know shit about pigs.

I joined a livestock forum to find out about them, went to tractor supply and bought all the shit we needed, all thats left to do is the bedding area and covering an area of the pen to keep the sun off them. Thats tomorrows project.

My daughter wants to sleep with the damn thing the first night cause they will be upset to be away from mama, so I told her she could sleep in the pen! She actually thought I would let her bring pigs in the house to sleep in her bed with her wtf

Anyway, our veggies do great all summer, but not the winter veggies. They are done he just isnt happy about it. We didnt really get a winter so the winter veggies didnt do well. They grew huge, but the brocoli went to seed rather quickly and the b sprouts just never really produced either.

Our corn is about a ft high, green beans are doing great and will continue for a while, all the melons are coming along, I have to replant cukes, as the three I planted seem to have vanished??? I dont know if they died or a critter ate them. I wake up to footprints in the garden every day and I dont know what they are, I am hoping cat.

Tomatoes are doing good too, the only thing not doing well is peppers, and I had the same problem last yr, I had to go buy plants, my seeds never took, and like I said the cukes.

I seem to have gargantuan onions and scallions, they look like they came from land of the lost or something.

TG glad your mom and dad are having their spirits lifted with news of mom coming home. I know my husband misses me terribly when I am away, even though he bitches about me when I am here. Thats just his way.

His hands are too big! I'm having a hard enough time hitting the right keys. That's why I grumble about it! I keep hitting the wrong ones!LOLOL

When I first got here, I had a couple of asthma attacks, but I tripled up the D3 and all is good. I have to find somewhere to get one of my supplements, but I searched awhile ago and found a place on the east side. I hope anyway!

I'm glad nosey is doing better for you and pupster. I knew you wouldn't be able to resist the little guy! Don't you love those helicopter ears?

Flav, I can't wait to see your new babies! They'll be really cute. I remember going to the pig barn when I was a kid to see the new babies.

Well, I don't have my new chicks(obvious, right!?!), but there are new chicks in a nest outside my parents kitchen window again this year. The robins are back and they have 3 or 4 chicks. I was watching them this afternoon and if the beaks are any indication, they'll be out flying in about a week! We get robins at home, but not for very long. They just pass through in the winter.

HAHAHA, yeah, those ears. The way they flop when he runs. He's the funniest thing ever when he's after a ball. He bounces. Seriously.

He sure snores loud. It sounds like a human in the other room. And God forbid if he hears a siren. The blood curdling howl. Have been trying to cut back his food. Poor little thing is always hungry but he's gaining a little more weight than he probably should have.

He hasn't "marked" in the house since I scolded him and took him out the first couple times. So he's not as dumb as he tries to appear. Well, that's debatable. LOL. But he's a sweetie.

Awww, you're so sweet Mama.

That is awesome that your 2 yr. old is able to recognize the dogs. Doesn't that make you so proud!! I bet it's cute as it can be watching that.

They are smart dogs. They're a hard act for another dog to follow. It's so hard for me to have what appears to be the high and low end of the IQ spectrum, but maybe it's me that's at the bottom cause I still haven't figured out if the beagle is really more clever than he lets on. Surely he must be. LOL.

Doesn't matter. He's full of love. 8)

Oh, your on a roll tonight! Yeah, lots of shit. Well I figured we will just make a nice pile with some hay and have fertilizer for next yr. We also have a large pile of lumbe and downed tree branches over there thats about 10 ft wide and 20 ft long. I was thinking we should make one of those raised bed thingys, cant remember the name, I keep wanting to call it kefirsomething or another, but its where you dont have to water it after the first year. I figure we could throw pig shit and dirt and other debris on there and let it become a nice hill to grow stuff on. Of course the problem with that is the deer would eat it all.

When we cleared the lot for the pigs there were tons of paths and places the deer were bedding down. We only cleared about a 50 by 50 of the 5 acres. The "wheat" was past my head.

My grandma gave me a pig when I was young. He stayed on her farm of course, but I spent a summer there and loved that sweet pig. He'd lay his head in my lap and eat popsicles. He was so darn nice. Hope Flavpor doesn't have to care for them or be around them at all. Guess I'd get pretty hungry before I'd eat something I saw grow. sniff, sniff.

Yeah, all the above ground crops. I wouldn't plant below ground ones. I bought some roadside potatoes once they'd fertilized with pig poop and after peeling and starting to boil them, the smell went through the house faster than I could get it outside. Never heard of anything like it before or since, but it was rank! Still wonder if there wasn't something else to it. Not something you'd forget.

The pigs are here! One little pink one the size of my 8 lb yorkie on my avatar, and one thats a redish brown with some black spots, shes pretty as pigs go! She has taken to protecting the little boy who is a whiner. He is very frightened right now. The girl is twice his size, shes 6 wks the little one is 3 wks. They are both weaned but were in a pen with about 15 baby pigs, 2 mamas, and one daddy pig.

So... we have them in a large dog cage in my back yard cause I am scared a racoon or fox or god knows what else will get them since theyre so small.

The parents are ugly as hell and I am not letting my piggys get to be 600 lbs like they are. We picked the ugly ones cause the cute little black one would have become a "pet", and I knew it so I took the ugly little pink one.

I can't wait to see them. Little piggies are so adorable. Doesn't matter if they're pink, white, or black, they're all so sweet.

Isn't 3 weeks awfully young to go to a new home? Guess I'm ignorant. Seems like it would just now be starting on food. Did they give you any care tips, or do you already know?

It's going to be so hard to care for them then have them gone. I hope the pig partner steps up soon so you and your daughter don't get attached to them.

Speaking of your daughter, if they're in a dog crate in the back yard, how many steps is it to your dd's bedroom? I mean, 3 weeks, a tiny baby, away from mama and home, how bad could it be? LOL!

Did you get any pics yet?

That little guy is a mean one! He moves around like a Chihuahua. Dont like him much. The larger girl is sweet.

I said the same thing, but they were eating corn. He said they are eating solids already. He suggested we keep them in the cage closer to the house till they get a little larger since we dont have a dog or anything to bark. I know they will squawk but I sleep like a log and probably wouldnt hear it. The place we put the pen is across the road about 200 ft back on the property.

I guess we will have to put some sort of chicken wire or something on the top of it in a few weeks to bring them over there. They cant stay in my yard for to long.

Trust me, I am not gonna get attached to them. Now that cute black and white cow that was there, that I could get attached to. It tried to mount my daughter! It was following us around, and letting us pet it, than it walked up behind her and put its front paws on her shoulders.

I havent seen that kid move so fast in a long time..
