Wow. Bet that was beautiful to see!

Do you go forever without rain, then when it comes it comes in buckets in a big downpour? Or haven't you even had that?

It's supposed to get up around 100 here on Thurs. I love warm weather, but most of the critters hate it. Just me and the donkeys like it. LOL.

That's how it's been raining down here, Nine's! It's like a giant fire hose for awhile and then it's done. We've still got fields under water in the usual places. The cotton crop took a big hit after the last two storms with the wind and hail. The fields that are still good are doing really well with the heat.

We go in spurts. We always seem to be in the line of storms during the spring. Once summer hits, it dies down a bit. And yes, it does come down in buckets once it hits. Just seems like awhile since we have had rain. Does it get really humid where you are? That's what makes it the worst here!

Hooo boy TB, bet that's some miserable weather if you have those high temps with standing water around!!!! Ugh!

The bugs are terrible this year, what with the warm winter and then all this rain earlier in the spring. I had to spray the tomatoes with Neem last night. I bought it to use a couple of weeks ago, but hadn't yet. I wasn't sure I wanted to, but I found a bunch of moths eating my leaves! Boogers!

Oh yeah, your spring storms. Ugh. My son chases storms and he's always out your way in the spring. Nasty stuff you get!

It's been odd how dry it is, then the big downpours. Don't remember it being like that other than once in a while. Now it seems that "all" we get.

It does get humid because of the lakes. It's still nice though if you don't have to move around much or be out in the sun. Doing anything is hard though. Some days, breathing is hard. Like trying to breathe in a fish bowl. LOL.

I think I would be storm chasing too! BUUUUTTTT.....I am like a mother oppossum, always have someone clinging to me and wanting me to make some sort of food product for them!

Nasty things. Ticks are the biggie here. Tons of the sorry blood sucking nasty, worthless, squirmy things.

You know the oddest thing? I heard locusts one night. ONE night. They never, ever start before the middle of July. I heard them one night and that was it. Isn't that the oddest thing?

I know about the locusts. I heard some the other night too and it's about a month too early. Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Anymore, I don't know what to think. I'm starting to want to hybernate at home these days.

Food is another issue with the heat. You put it off as long as you can, and even then you dread heating up the house, but after a while without a decent meal, you get desperate. My grill has been getting a workout.

Do the girls enjoy the weather or do they hang inside when it's so hot?

I know. Kind of gave me the creeps wondering what's up with that. It's always 3 months til frost from the time you first hear them, but does that one day count? LOL.

Yeah....I just crank the AC when I have to turn the oven on. The house heats up quick when it's on. My girls are outdoorsy kind of girls. They love being outside and at the pool. The heat does not bother them too much!

I remember my gram telling me that about the katy-dids, but it doesn't hold true down here. Thankfully no ticks yet, at least I haven't seen them yet! Lot's of red ants and moths though. I did see ONE honey bee yesterday. Haven't seen one in awhile.

Awesome that the girls enjoy the outdoors! When I go to town I never see kids out anymore. It's like they've vanished. You should be proud that yours are out there. That's where they should be IMO.

Haven't used my AC. Once it's turned on, it's too hard going from the cold to hot and the hotter it is, the more often I need to go out to make sure everyone is surviving. Sucks the breath from you going out, then again coming in. Just not worth it. LOL.

Be careful with that Nine's. Don't over do if you can help it.

Yeah. That's another thing. The honeybees. I saw them one day. One.

Going to be an expensive winter I bet. Grain prices are climbing all the time and the way things are looking, nothing to keep them from going up more.

Im fine everyone! Yes it has been raining like hell here! I went to bed friday night with it raining and woke up sat to it raining, it didnt stop all day or night, and I woke up sunday to it raining.

It rained on and off all of sunday, all day and night monday, and on and off today.

We are totally sick of it! We are not flooded like st pete or anything, I am nearer Orlando, and that is the forecast we get.

There have been heavy gusty winds that took my umbrella from my patio and peeled it off the frame, many garbage cans and other things rolling down streets like tumbleweeds and quite a few trees down. The ground is so saturated the roots cant hold them up, so the really big ones just come down if they get enough wind or are in a leaning stature.

Yes the pigs love it, my loofahs seem to be loving it too. All of the vine bushes are doing fine, it was just the garden. The internet and tv and power have been going on and off often, especially the internet, cable and cell phone service. I was having scrabble withdrawals. I woke up to 21 games this morning cause I havent been able to get on for about 3 days.

My husbands mom had a small stroke tonight. The good news is it seems to have only affected her speech and she will need therapy. The other good news is it happened while she was at the hospital about 2 hrs after an angiogram where she was recovering in ICU. Remember she has that giant anyurism that she has to have monitered every few months. Well it couldnt have happened at a better time or place. Maybe it was from the angie, but it could have been alot worse.

Tomorrow they will do an mri to see if anything else is affected. She was still groggy from the orig angie but appears to have all her body movement, understands when you ask her to do something, was very stomach sick from the meds, knew where she was, who she was and why she was there, dates, etc, so thats a good thing.

So... if you dont hear from me to much in the next few days, I have my hands full.

I know, but critters want what critters want, when critters want it!! Even if you don't feel up to getting it for them!

So sorry about your MIL. When it rains, it pours. Figuratively and literally. That just sucks. Sometimes don't you get to the point you just wonder how much a person can endure at once?

Yeah, it's just mainly making sure they have cool water and if it's hot enough, a mister for them to get under to cool off some. It's worth it to see how grateful they are. 8)

FLAV!!! So glad you didn't float away! Sorry to hear about you mil. Keep us posted if you can. My sil is down there, her dad had a heart attack on Sat. and surgery today. My mom said he had a major blockage in one artery and maybe some valve problems. Sil said she had an awful time driving from the airport to her dad's house yesterday.
