I am talking about the game with the balls the size of grapefruit and the large mallot golf club thingy. Quoting: flavapor As far as time for myself BAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAA. Its the first of the month next week, my life is hell for the next 10 days! Everyone knows to bring stuff in throw away containers or take them when they leave. I dont do dishes at BBQ's, cleanup consists of a large garbage can. Most people pick up after themselves, and clean up is easy. We have it down to a science. Hose the deck and go to bed. All my back yard parties have the "disposable theme" LOL. Was teasing you about crochet, like with yarn. I know you meant croquet. Now if that isn't just a royal bummer having the next 10 days be hell. Seems like the past few haven't been real close to heaven. Even a disposable theme can be overwhelming when you have so many other things on your mind. Can be stressful just being social. Hope things turn out real well and it ends up being a relaxing time rather than stressful. It's great someone will be there so you won't have to carry the load, and good she can go to rehab. If you have to go visit, no one will notice if you take a couple extra hours to do it. Have to fit some time in for you. |

Nine's User ID: 17811173 United States 06/28/2012 06:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Aww, Flav, so sorry to hear about your MIL. It must have been heartbreaking to see her frustrated and agitated. Is there something they didn't do right during the procedure she had that they could correct, or is it just something that happened? Is Pete doing ok dealing with it? Must be real hard on you seeing her, reassuring him, and deal with the first of the month property things and all the other things you have going on. Thank you for letting us know. We can double up on our prayer, positive thoughts, whatever a persons belief system is, and/or just keeping you in our hearts and thoughts. Hope everyone is ok with the heat. Looks like it's real warm where you are Flav, but even more for TB and Mama. It's 104 here right now according to our local paper. The poor animals are miserable. I ran the the sprinkler for the chickens and mister for the horses. Some of the chickens don't like to go in the sprinkler so when I filled Dudely's play area, they were looking envious so I ran enough to make a nice mud puddle for them and that's where they're hanging. You guys take care and try to stay cool. It's hard Flav, but try to not worry. No need to answer this unless you just want to talk. If you get any spare time, use it for yourself. Hugs to you. |

I keep thinking about how much you have going on! It was of course so hot here today. We all stayed inside. My parents live about 10 minutes away and lost power for a bit. Thankfully it came back on. Several quick brown outs! I know my power flickered a bit. Went to get ice cream for the kids and the car temp guage went up to 114! Needless to say, it was pizza for dinner. A lot cheaper than heating up the house even more. No break for the AC today! Hope everyone who is enduring the heat takes care and stays safe! |

These days, having a stroke doesn't have to be bad news. Dad had a couple of them and bounced right back. To everyone with the heat...Yikes!!! We're doing the same thing, Mama. Today, it was 95 by 11:00 am! The weird thing is my tomatoes are still blossoming! They haven't set fruit yet, though. We're supposed to be back to 92 by Sunday. I hope so! I think it's supposed to get hotter again after that though. It's TOO hot to cook right now. Glad I don't have anything to can yet! Nine's, be careful! That is WAY too hot for up there. I better call the folks and check on them this afternoon. What's the humidity? I hope you turned on your AC yesterday. Gotta go, I'm taxi mom this weekend. I'll be in and out! Everyone stay safe this weekend and next week with the fireworks! Catch you all later! |

Everyone stay safe this weekend and next week with the fireworks! Catch you all later! You be real careful TB. That heat can overcome you before you realize it. It was hot yesterday and today. Made it though yesterday but when it wasn't cooling off by today, Pupster was totally miserable so I did turn it on for him. Left the bathroom door shut to keep it a little warmer so I hung out in there a while before going out so it wouldn't be such a drastic temp. change. Hope your parents are ok. I checked on a couple elderly people yesterday because of the heat. Took them supper I cooked on the grill with a nice big salad. One's a guy; one's a woman. Wish those two would get together. Edited to add. It's real cool here now. Couple hrs. after I turned on the AC, we had a big storm and it dropped from the uppper 90's to 75.It's 58 percent humidity today. Yesterday was around 30 percent.Going to be in the 90's for a few days. Last Edited by Nine's - IN MEMORIAM on 06/29/2012 09:04 PM |
Texan Buckeye User ID: 1533753 United States 06/29/2012 09:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Hey, Nine's! It's not too bad here. Pretty normal for summer and the cotton needs the heat like this to grow. Trust me, I do most of my stuff after 4 pm when the sun is on the OTHER side of the house!! It cools off to around the upper 60's to low 70's at night and that helps alot. When it doesn't cool off is when it's hard to live with. Poor pupster! I know he's too hot, so is buddy. The vet's kennel spoiled him when he was there, though! He thinks he's an inside/lapdog now and he's probably the same size as pups!LOL I bring him in in the mornings and put him outside about now, but he doesn't like it outside anymore. The next time I have a minute, I'm stopping at the vet's office to tease them about spoiling my dog! I'm glad it rained up there, we might get some on Sunday. I'm not holding my breath yet, though. You guys should see our skies these days. It's almost totally white in the daytime because of the smoke from the fires in New Mexico and Colorado. I was up the other night to see the moon set and it was the deepest red I've seen in years. What's weird is, we can't smell it. Some years back old Mexico had really bad fires and we could actually smell them most of the summer. |
Nine's User ID: 12109328 United States 06/29/2012 10:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Oh wow,TB. If the skies are white from the fires,it means you're breathing it. Make sure you keep your inhaler handy! The fires sound horrendous and if you can see the difference in the skies, it's hard to imagine how bad it must be. Our skies have been the most beautiful blue with puffy white clouds. The kind you could stare at all day and store away for nice memories in the winter. 8) That's so funny about Buddy and I'm so glad you let him in. It's just terrible for the critters out there. He must be in doggie heaven hanging out with you all day. Hope he isn't really trying to be a lap dog. He'll SQUASH you. LOL. Bet the vet would like hearing about them spoiling him. I read that beagles don't do well with the heat, but Little Dog seems fine with it. He's only out for a few minutes at a time, and he pants, but it's a relaxed pant, not like Pupsters, "omg, omg, I'm dying here," pant. When Pupster is panting away inside, Little Dog isn't. That's one thing LD and I have in common. LOL. We both do well at warm temps. It's been too hot though the past couple days. Guess it's breaking records. Like you said though, if it cools off at night, it's bearable. Just opening the windows at night and closing them in the morning keeps it nice inside all day. Nice for me and LD anyway, but not for Pupster. Last night though, it didn't get down to the mid 80's til after 4 this morning. Too hard to wait up that long, then get out early so the dogs can play before the heat comes. It just never left, so Pupster is antsy needing more exercise. But Little Dog is all mellow and happy. LOL. I hope you guys get some of that rain. Your veggies would love it and you'd probably love it too, not having to water. Amazing how much it cooled off after the rain too. I'm sitting here in fleece jammies and Pupster isn't even panting. He's zonked out happy to be cool again. Buddy sounds like a good, loyal dog, so if he wants in tonight, you run fetch him and make space for him. He can't throw off that much heat when he cuddles. HAHAHAHA!! Oh, forgot. Good thing you didn't see all the sites at Cedar Point. They found a skeleton over by the break wall at CP. |
