Thought you might like to see what kind of crazy goes on around here, even if it's someone else's dog.

I haven't been posting much lately. Hubs is still on overnights and I'm having some health issues to deal with. I don't have any answers yet, I have to go back in 2 weeks. They're hinting at putting me back on the pain meds, but I can't go back to that. Too many side effects last time. I have a new doctor and I think she'll be good,so we'll see. At least, no one got crazy about my supplements. I was afraid of that.

Anyway, I just wanted to let you all know, I'm reading and keeping up with you all. Flav, I have too many corny animal jokes I could tease you with, but I won't. They're lousy jokes from my grandpa and they don't go over well these days!

I'll catch up with you all when I can. These days, I have crummy timing, but hopefully, not for much longer. Hubs is having a hard time finding people to work overnights. He keeps starting training and then they all come up with lame excuses. He's on #4 trainee in the last 3 weeks. Cross your fingers, ok?

I love to see those kind of videos TB! They make my day. Sounds like Buddy keeps you entertained!

What a precious, adorable film. They look like good buddies, but when the dog was nibbling fleas, I was cringing waiting for the chomp. LOL. Little kitty is so tiny compared to the dog. Must be some fun times around your house. LOL.

Must be a total nuisance having to train people then have them not want to work. What a waste of time and energy. Too bad they can't just be up front and say they don't think it will work.

Glad to hear you made it to the Dr. and hope things work out well. It sure would be nice if they could get to the source of the problem rather than treating the symptoms. Guess that's easier said than done though. Can't blame you about not wanting the pain pills. It would be so hard to get anything done. 'Course with the time I've wasted surfing the net today, guess pain pills aren't the only hindrance to getting things done. LOL. Take care of yourself TB.

Thanks everyone, it was a great birthday! My hubby took me to the beach friday and we stayed over, so it felt like two days, when I got home, all my family and close friends were on my back patio, dressed up in full garb of the rocky horror picture show! I loved that movie as a teen and used to go every friday dressed up.

I always tell the kids and Pete about it and last yr they got me the movie for Christmas and I said we should have a party out back and make everyone dress up for the party. Well, they did it for my birthday. It was awesome, they had a dj, food catered that was awesome, the projector playing the movie, lighting system set up from a friend who does stage and tv lighting for a living, so it looked like stars shooting in the sky all night, a fog machine, bartender and charactor drawer who drew everyone over the course of the night. It was an awesome 50th!

How fun Flava! What a good family to do that for you! Sounds like a good time! Especially the beach part!

Yup. I had to be Janet saturday and Pete was Brad. We were the only two in those costumes as everyone was told thats who we were going to be and only the two of us could be that.

They sure did! Everyone took pics and they are slowly trickling in. My neighbors looked amazing, the husband was dressed up like a transvestite and he actually looked amazing! As in "hot". I didnt even know who he was till he went next to his wife and it clicked for me. He was the talk of the night, made an amazing female although half way thru the night he went home and took off the stelleto heels and put on his cowboy boots.

Thank you Eazy D. No worries, I was so useless I dont think I ever got on the computer on my actual birthday, which was Sunday. I managed to drink two cups of coffee, went to brush my teeth and realized that doing that took all the energy I had, so I flopped out on the patio and did NOTHING the rest of the day.

Man, you wouldnt believe the week we have had! First off, while doing the yard up all nice for my party last weekend, my son almost weedwacked a tiny kitten under a bush. He finished doing the yard (which is large) and went back to check on it and it was still there. Long story short the kids took the kitten in and fed it watered down milk on Saturday, then gave it to me as part of a birthday gift. (I need that like a hole in the head), anyway, of course the next morning the kitten was very ill from the milk they fed it and I got some pedialite, but it was to late, she died later that night.

Then on tuesday Jake the rescue dog of my daughters that we have had for 5 yrs now, started peeing all over the place, this lasted for two days then he started drinking ALOT of water and barfing. Later that night he got lethargic and off to the emergency vet we went. He was diagnosed with diabetes and pancreatitis and they got his sugar level down to 190 (from 688) and discharged him in the morning to go to the regular vet. Two hours later at the regular vet when they checked his sugar it was at almost 500, so more insulin and off to a specialist vet. That was last friday morning that he went to the specialty vet and we just got him home tonight. As it turns out, he doesnt have diabetes and is on a strict diet and we have to test his urine twice a day. The specialty vet hasnt given him any insulin since Saturday night and he has been ok, but he has been on an IV for hydration, so I hope he doesnt start to get high sugar again tonight.

My daughter just spent half the house downpayment money on this dog, which is a good little dog, but we know for sure that he is at least 10 and has had health problems already when we got him. Last month was over 900 bucks, this month she is already over 4000 bucks and I hope she is making the right choice in doing all of this. Oh, he also ulcerated his retina last week and we thought it was because he walked into something, although he doesnt walk around all that much but now the vet thinks it may have been a side effect to the elevated sugar. She is also looking at an eye surgery once he is more healthy.

Needless to say it has been a mentally exhausting week. On top of all of the pet crisis, friday night we ran out of gas for the first time ever, our gas co was bought by another and we have always had them come every other month to top us off, and that part of the record didnt go with the rest of it, so we ran out. No cooking, hot water, etc... when they came and filled us we thought all was good, but my dryer hasnt been working right since. Sometimes it will get hot and others not. The AC went out too, but thank god Pete knows how to fix it and did cause its been very humid here. So now I am gonna sit down with an ice cream cone and watch the vp debate.

Sounds like the week from hell. Sorry to hear about the kitten and your daughter's dog. I wonder what that could be if it is not diabetes.

Up and down, but right now ok. I just realized no one posting over there remembers her. She's very nice and knowledgable (sp?). I'm in and out today, trying to get some things done before the weather changes AGAIN!! It's been a crazy rollercoaster lately. I'll catch up with you later.
