I usually do a yard sale when one of my rental homes with a 2 car gar comes up for rent. My area is to rural for a good yard sale.

Some of the stuff I have I may put on craigslist or consign cause its valuable stuff, just not something I want anymore.

I would almost like to get rid of my granmothers china, but I just cant. Its an heirloom, and there are two complete sets of 12. One of my girls would cherish it, the other would not, so I am not sure what to do with that stuff except let it sit where it is now for another 20 yrs.

I know that 22 yrs ago when we moved to Fl I chipped one of the soup bowls in the move and when I went to replace it back then, it was $69 bucks !!

My dad used to buy my mom milk glass/fentonware. Her collection, I was told, should be in a museum. My big bro got the dinner service and some pieces and I have some pieces. Mom still has the rest. She was going to split the dinner service 3 ways, for my bro's and me, but I told her no. It should stay together. I was still moving, I couldn't take it. That stuff shards in the smallest pieces you've ever seen!! I'm glad she didn't split it, since little bro dies and everything he had of my grandma's has disappeared. Ex-wives.

Hubby is actually on board for the clean out...can I get a hallelujah? Starting on the garage tomorrow. That will give us space for the stuff that comes out of the house. I'm sure I will still have to "sneak" some of his stuff out of the closet and dresser drawers, but does he really need every T-shirt or hat he has had over the last 20 years?

Mama, I almost fell out of my chair. Usually he says "don't get carried away now", but this time it was his idea to start in the garage so we had dry space for the stuff out of the house before it goes to be donated. Perhaps there is hope after all?!

We just chucked a bunch of stuff at the cabin and put locks on some of the cabinets so that we had extra space for stuff that we could leave here. I like to have separate pots and pans from the people who rent here cause they dont take care of stuff like that.

We are looking to change rental companies cause the cleaning people suck and they dont ever catch things missing and the 5 and 10 bucks here and there are pissing me off.

Anywayzz the new company says we have to have 2 bath towels and washclothes per guest, and one hand towel per guest, our cabin sleeps 12 so thats 24 of each, than she tells me they need 2 sets of that because they cant possibly wash that many towels in a 4 hour turn around which means 48 of each towel! Holy shit! Plus 2 sets of sheets for each bed which we already have, but how the hell are we gonna fit all that in a linen closet???

Now.. on to chemtrails... as we are packing up the car tonight, going home tomorrow morning :( there is a full moon and there are chemtrails in a straight line that form a square around the full moon, and the lines intersect at the corners and continue into the abyss of the dark sky and than form another larger square around the first square! My husband said, "I will never doubt you and your chemtrails again, that is definately man made". He was amazed.

Speaking of pans ~ I am a bake ware hoarder. I was not aware of this until today. Cleaned out the cupboard that houses the bake ware today. I have 4 glass rectangular baking pans, 1 stoneware (Pampered Chef), and 2 metal. I guess hubby is not alone in the contributing department. Don't get me started on pie pans. For some reason I have 8 pie pans (2 metal, one glass, and 5 from Marie Calendar's). As for skillets, 6. Every size and type imaginable. I am Maureen, and I have a pan hoarding problem. LOL

We have rented a lot of places via VRBO. It is not unusual for the places to have a locked closet for owners only. I can't imagine housing 48 towels though. Seems they could pop them in the washer and dryer while they are cleaning. Should only take an hour and a half to wash, dry, and put away.

Edit to add - I did not do that before GLP!

Next year she will probably be there. Things are so uncertain you might want to mail the stocking and have her bring it when she comes. Then if she can't make it you won't have to look at a pitiful limp stocking. Sniff, sniff.

Sorry SO. That is really hard, thankfully it hasnt happened often.

I still make my family take a Christmas photo with santa every yr. They know if they arent in the photo theres no Christmas for them at the house, so I never get any arguments. Besides after the pic, we all eat at the food court and everyone gets to eat where they want, which is apparently a huge perk! Then we pair off and finish any shopping, which usually involves my husband taking at least one daughter with him to buy gifts for me, since he isnt tht great at picking clothes that fit or that I would look good wearing

We are planning to go in May. They have a big thing at the base "Wings over Whiteman". Large airshow and lots of equipment out to be seen. It would give our son in law a chance to show us around and see what he does (or at least the part that can be shown to the public). I am looking forward to it. I also want to go see the Amish settlement that is close by, and have some Kansas City BBQ.

SO

I had to crack up at your bakeware anonymous admission. I have a problem with cookware of all sorts, its just bad cause I buy something new cause I need it (old one is shabby), than I dont like it as much as the old one, so I throw it in the cab and continue to use the shabby one, till I get another whim and I do the same thing again and again! I still use my grandmothers poultry shears and a really nice broiling pan. She got them both as wedding gifts, which means they are over 75 yrs old. She passed away over 10 yrs ago at 94. That pan still looks younger than me :0

Hi guys! Are you ready for this one? We had to go into town to Wallie's to get dog and cat food. While we were there, I wanted to pick up a couple of things for the kid's Christmas this weekend. My mom used to get us all socks, but she told us last year she wouldn't be able to do it anymore. My kids were bummed...go figure!LOL Anyway, I was going to get some socks for the girls and they had Valentines socks out already! Candy too. So...I bought Valentines socks!

Re: >>>>Sustainable Living PLUS Canning and Dehydrating Food<<<<

This is why so many people post about time warp on GLP! It's the damn retailers.

It's just TOO weird! It's only 2 days after Christmas for crying out loud!

I have a confession to make. I'm a kitchen hoarder too. Add to the stashes of yarn, fabric, and craft stuff! My piano, organ, and other asst. instrument music hasn't been added to for years, though!

Hi Everyone,
Trying to catch up!!

SO...I am an air show addict! We used to have them here all the time until where they had them got too crowded with shopping malls! And in May with some BBQ? Awww yeah! Hope May gets here quick so you can see your daughter!

TB! I know, they have already gotten out the Valentine stuff here too! I'm still trying to buy Christmas candy on sale!

Flava....I love that you make your family take a picture with Santa each year! What a great family tradition!

Nines,
How's Dudely? Has him and his old lady checked in lately?
