I hear that. Feels like my house is bursting at the seams too.

So sorry your daughter didn't make it home. That had to hurt. You know she was with you in your heart and you were with her. Sometimes that has to be enough. Still hurts and I hope next year she can make it.

I know it was not her choice. She would have been here if possible. I hung up her stocking, but it was sad on Christmas day when it was empty. I think next year I will fill a stocking and mail it to her if she can't be here.

We are looking to change rental companies cause the cleaning people suck and they dont ever catch things missing and the 5 and 10 bucks here and there are pissing me off.

Anywayzz the new company says we have to have 2 bath towels and washclothes per guest, and one hand towel per guest, our cabin sleeps 12 so thats 24 of each, than she tells me they need 2 sets of that because they cant possibly wash that many towels in a 4 hour turn around which means 48 of each towel! Holy shit! Plus 2 sets of sheets for each bed which we already have, but how the hell are we gonna fit all that in a linen closet???

I know. Still it's hard.

Next year she will probably be there. Things are so uncertain you might want to mail the stocking and have her bring it when she comes. Then if she can't make it you won't have to look at a pitiful limp stocking. Sniff, sniff.

I hope so, Nine's. I thought about mailing it to her this year. After all, it is HER stocking. But, I just can't let it go. Maybe I should make new ones for her and her hubby. That way we all win.

That's a great idea! Win win for everyone. Maybe you guys can get together this summer and not have to worry so much about weather interfering with things. Not as stressful as holidays and you can relax and visit.

I still make my family take a Christmas photo with santa every yr. They know if they arent in the photo theres no Christmas for them at the house, so I never get any arguments. Besides after the pic, we all eat at the food court and everyone gets to eat where they want, which is apparently a huge perk! Then we pair off and finish any shopping, which usually involves my husband taking at least one daughter with him to buy gifts for me, since he isnt tht great at picking clothes that fit or that I would look good wearing

I had to crack up at your bakeware anonymous admission. I have a problem with cookware of all sorts, its just bad cause I buy something new cause I need it (old one is shabby), than I dont like it as much as the old one, so I throw it in the cab and continue to use the shabby one, till I get another whim and I do the same thing again and again! I still use my grandmothers poultry shears and a really nice broiling pan. She got them both as wedding gifts, which means they are over 75 yrs old. She passed away over 10 yrs ago at 94. That pan still looks younger than me :0

Hi guys! Are you ready for this one? We had to go into town to Wallie's to get dog and cat food. While we were there, I wanted to pick up a couple of things for the kid's Christmas this weekend. My mom used to get us all socks, but she told us last year she wouldn't be able to do it anymore. My kids were bummed...go figure!LOL Anyway, I was going to get some socks for the girls and they had Valentines socks out already! Candy too. So...I bought Valentines socks!

I have never been to the Amish community! That is something I would love to do! I just might have to sneak an Amtrak ride to KC to see the air show, eat BBQ, and shop with SO!!! LOL!

There you go!! I miss the air shows, too. I haven't been to one since our base closed. I want to go shopping in Albequerque again. Cool shops.

That's not too far. About 3 hours from the base. We could do the airshow and hit up the Amish area!

Dudely checks in nightly. His lady occasionally comes. He's a real fatty and seems to be handling the cold real well. Thanks for asking.

What a great time it would be if you met up with SO. You guys would have a great time! I hope you do it and let us know about it. Bet neither of you would regret it. One of the best things I did was to meet up with TB. I hope if you do it, your meeting is every bit as happy and fun as ours.

Sounds good to me! I'd have to see if the family would let me escape! LOL! The little one is at that stage where she does not go in public too much! LOL Too hard!

We will have a rental car (KC airport is too far away to not have one), we can always drive to where you are if you can't get away. I would really love to meet you.

I'd hate for you to drive that full way! Maybe at least I can meet you in the middle!
