Yes, it's a sweet one. They've done so much upgrading at the zoo. If you haven't been in a while you wouldn't recognize it.

We went to the zoo last year, but the new exhibits weren't open yet. We did get to see the baby elephant from a distance though. It's funny. The exhibits across the Trail were being updated this last time and the time before, it was under construction. We've never seen them!LOL I guess we need to go more often!

Aw, that's a shame. Yes, you should come more often. My heart just breaks for the critters though. Makes me feel so bad for them. The polar bears have it a lot nicer now with their new place. They always looked so miserable.

Things haven't seemed the same since Malaika, the old gorilla, died a couple years ago. The gorillas learn people. She used to see me and make motions for me to reach in my bag. I took toy cell phones, books, string, small stuffed toys, etc. She loved to look at kids picture books and would press her face close to see the pages and make motions to turn the page. I loved that gorilla. LOL.

One of my old grade school teachers is a docent there. She looks the same, I'm the one that looks old!LOL

I remember Malaika. She was amazing. I found some old pics of the two oldest kids when their daycare went to the zoo. They still had the petting zoo back then and the goats kept trying to chew on the toddlers! Great fun!

Yes TB, I have been thru it, went into a big depression, now theyre all back again but thankfully they come and go so its not so bad.

The laundry room is my pet peeve, they put stuff in and dont take it out. Then when I want to go do laundry I have to clear the counter, move baskets around and usually fold stuff just to do my own laundry.

Did a new years resolution that they will take the stuff to their personal spaces and that they each need to cook once a week since I am not the only adult anymore.

So far, I havent cooked yet this week. Hope this continues!

I'm just so tired of the messes. They all moved out with what they wanted at the time and left the rest. You know what moving messes look like. They say they'll come back and finish, but I'm STILL waiting. I decided last week, I'm done waiting. I'm going to start throwing out. I've asked and begged for help. I've even tried to hire a couple of teens I know. Nada. It's just me and I can't do all the lifting and hauling anymore. It's SO frustrating that my muscles have let me down. I've ALWAYS done heavy work, it's what I enjoy. But, I can't do it anymore. I couldn't move yesterday and I slept until 5:30. I dragged myself out of bed 'cause the kids came over and I wanted to see them before they went home today. I must have taken Em to see the kitties a million times! She LOVES them. I can't wait until I get my chicks. I'M getting them this spring, come hell or high water!

I thought it was pretty cool. We have a Nook, but I'll keep checking the list for more to put on the computer. I know B&N has free books for Nook, too.

Looking through my computer it looks like I have their desktop nook but don't think I've downloaded any from them.
There are some really great free books if you snare them when they're available.

The family wants to get me one of the reader's, but I keep putting them off. I have a hard time reading the screen for very long and I like to have the paper to make notes or highlight. They don't like the space my books take up, but I'm not in the mood to listen right now.LOL

I am going through them all and giving a bunch of them away to people that I know that want them. More space for more books!

You just can't beat a hard copy. Some things just shouldn't be listened to. That's why you're not in the mood for it. Books are good. 8)

What I don't like about reader's is, if I buy a book, I can't give you the book permanently. I can only give it to you for a couple of weeks. They can delete books off the reader, if they want to, too. Besides, there's just something about the smell of a book and the comfort of reading old friends. Kind of like your favorite jeans or a pair of comfy shoes.

Are you kidding me? They can delete a book you paid for? No way would I do that! LOL.

Yes, exactly about the smell, feel, comfort of a long lived book friend. 8) And introducing new ones to the old ones. Like a reunion. HAHAHA. Ahh, it's getting late.

Yeah, it is. I've got to hang up the shirts soon, too. Gotta go check on my new orphan kitteh again. He's crying, poor little guy. One of the girls at hubs work gave him to me. She didn't have the patience for him, he likes to nibble. I named him Rocky, 'cause he likes to fight. He's just playful. I'll be putting him out with the rest of the kids in a few days, when it warms up a little.

Aww, poor little guy. Bless your heart for taking him in.

I'm back again. He's a cutie. He's a light gray tabbie. He has grayish eyes, too. Skinny little fella, though. We think he was separated from mom too soon.

HA. I'm going back and forth doing things too.

Lucky little kitten. It's so neat that he has a forever home. Think how many are out there alone in the cold. He sounds like he's a beautiful little guy. Gray eyes must be very unusual and pretty.

I hope he gets along with the others. He should, I think, they're pretty easy going. They took to Pete when I put him outside. No problems.

I've got some outside stuff I want/need to do in a couple of days. I'll put him out then, when I'm outside for him to follow me around. Might not get my bush trimmed with a kitten crawling around my feet though! LOL

I just realized how that read! Yikes! I have the other evergreen bush to trim up. It has some dead branches and I want to make it a topiary like the one I did last year. Behave over there, Nine's!

That's a great idea. He'll probably be so overwhelmed and wanting to investigate things that you'll be able to do the bushes. It must feel good having weather that you can go out in the winter and trim bushes. 8)

It's SO overgrown. I really like how the other one's turned out, but this one is a different kind of evergreen. I didn't trim it before, because the cat's like to hide in it, but it really needs it now. I have some leather gloves this time, too! Not as many scratches this time, I hope!

I didn't either, until I read it after I posted. I thought about deleting it, but I didn't want to drive Flav crazy!

That would be me too! I am a bookaholic. My oldest daughter and her hubby sent me a Kindle Fire for Christmas!!!! I think I will be using this link....a lot. Lol

Ok ladies, I need mom type advice. I came home from work tonight and smelled weed in my house. The youngest (18) and the foster daughter (16) are both suspect at this point. I realize I live in Oregon and weed is not looked upon harshly, but in my house ~ damnit ~ it will not be allowed. I know the foster daughter left here about 3pm and my daughter got off work about 4pm. I got home at 5:45 and could smell it as soon as I walked through the door. That makes me think it was recent so it was my daughter. She of course denies it. I talked to our foster daughter and told her I smelled it when I came home. I asked her what time she left the house today and her answer jived with our computer history (I can always tell when she leaves by the internet history on the computer). I told the foster daughter to never let our daughter talk her into taking the blame for something like this. She said she respected us way to much to do that. Thoughts?
