there comes a point where they cant raise the price of goods, the consumer just wont pay the money, then it will become an issue. Until then its business as usual because they just care about the bottom line

Everyone doing ok? It's been storming like crazy here. We've had some snow, lots of rain, and high wind. Hoping to finish off the Christmas shopping this weekend.

Hope your having success in your Christmas shopping SO. We drove to Ga on Thursday, high winds, rain, felt like the world was going to end at some points! It took us 10 hours instead of the usual 8 due to the weather and driving conditions, but we made it safely.

It is COLD here! I am not used to this 20something sort of weather, and with the high gusty winds it just cuts right thru clothing and chills to the bone.

Today we did grocery shopping and made cookies and dinner for tonight, where did the day go! Have to finish up my milano cookies tomorrow (the chocolate dipping part) and do the chocolate chips. I just ran out of steam today. Flopped onto the couch and gonna catch up with glp

Have 2 presents under the tree for each family member, then it's a prepaid visa for the youngest and the foster daughter. They love to shop and this way they can buy whatever strikes their fancy during the post holiday sales.

Grocery shopping is tomorrow ~ it's our turn to host family dinner on Christmas Eve for my immediate family. Prime rib and baked potatoes are all I have to do. Easy Peasy.

We had the high winds and rain in our area too, snow fell on the mountains though. Like a foot in 26 hours!

Got a picture text from the oldest in Missouri, it's cold and snowy there. It's funny with being on a Military base and having people there from around the country. What seems like a blizzard to her is normal to others. Our schools get closed with 2" of snow on the ground here. Guess she will be learning more about serious winter weather and driving conditions. Thank goodness she lives in base housing and works on the base.

The cookies sound wonderful. We do cinnamon rolls for our neighbors. Make them up on Christmas Eve so they can bake them Christmas morning. It's an easy recipe (I will post it on the recipe thread) and we have made them for so many years I can do it in my sleep!

Were doing prime rib too. I never did that before, usually its turkey and ham, sometimes roast pork, but Pete wanted filet minion until he saw the price, than he said, how bout prime rib. The only thing we always have is mashed potatoes. My kids love them so I never get to change up the potato dish

It must a beef kind of Christmas! We're having a roast, too. We're not having our Christmas until the 29th because daughter has to work until the 28th and they won't be in town until very late. Then, we're having ham and fixin's at the hotel. The kids want to go swimming and hubs has to work later that night.

Sorry I haven't checked in for awhile. I've been kind of in the dumps, but all is working out for the best now. It's nice to have youngest son home for a little while. He'll go back with daughter after New Year's to catch the train back to school. I wish we had Amtrak here. I LOVE trains!

And, before you all say anything, I'm NOT cooking like a fiend, like last year!LOL Super simple!

Glad your taking it easy TB. Sounds like you will have the family around even if its not all on Christmas. Its the spirit of Christmas not the day that makes it special. Hope you enjoy both your days.

Its nice to be able to spend some time with each of the kids without feeling pulled in two directions so the few days you get your son alone is probably a good thing.

Hey, Flav! Easy is about it anymore. I feel better, but I just can't shake the fatigue. I really hate that part.

I gave myself a strange Christmas present yesterday. I took "little boy" to get a haircut! Desperately needed one, too! He's so good looking when it's cut. He looks like ZZTop when it isn't!LOL

Merry Christmas, everyone! You are NOT going to believe this! It's snowing here! We weren't supposed to get anything, but we did! About an inch, but it's blowing so much, it's hard to tell for sure and it looks like it'll keep it up for awhile. I got up when hubs got home from work and he said it had been snowing since about 4 am.

I wish I could show you all the pics my daughter sent of the amazing EM! She helped her mom make cookies for Santa last night and then she ATE them!! She was sitting up on the counter stirring and scooping cookie dough. It looks like it went better than when I did it with her mom!LOL

Anyway, hope y'all have a wonderful day.chilly

Christmas Morning Cinnamon Rolls

18 Rhodes frozen dinner rolls
1 Cube Butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1-2 tsp cinnamon
1 box jello butterscotch pudding (the kind that has to cook)

Place the rolls in a bundt pan, or oversized disposable loaf pan. Melt butter and mix in brown sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Pour butter mixture over frozen rolls. Sprinkle pudding mix over the top. Cover loosely with foil and let rise on the counter overnight. Remove foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or so. Invert pan onto serving plate and enjoy.

Flava - I put this on the recipe thread too. These are so easy and yummy!

Re: >>>>Sustainable Living PLUS Canning and Dehydrating Food<<<<
Good to see you OG. It seems everyone has kept Christmas sort of low key. It has been nice in a different sort of way. The tree we had in Ga went up 1 2 3 and had lights on it so that step was eliminated, and we didnt have ornaments, so I used some garland that was here and several Christmas teddy bears that usually sit on the mantle and on tables and put them on the tree, there were only 7 of them but they covered the parts of the tree that you can see and it looked really cute and took all of 30 mins to put up the entire thing. I took it down today cause we are leaving on Friday and I have to clean up and do laundry and stuff tomorrow.

I have a renewed energy to clean out my house in Fl when I get home and do a spring cleaning a little early. I already took out some stuff from my closet under the stairs and thats gonna be my starting point. There is so much crap there that is way in the back, if I havent used it recently its going to good will or somewhere other than my house! I am actually excited to be cleaning up. I have been feeling over cluttered for a few months and its taking a toll on me at this point.

The kicker was that we brought home videos to watch of when the kids were young up here to Ga, and I kept saying wow, look how un cluttered my house was, I loved it that way!

My family tends to save stuff, especially my hubby, and its crap that were never gonna use, so I have to pitch it when hes not home and drive it elsewhere, he is on to me and always checks the trash. Even he has said he wants to organize his closet and throw out alot of stuff so I guess 2012 may not have been the end of the world, but a new beginning! Yeay
