The weight alone could cause some earth-shifting. "Almost 910,000 tons of waste are currently disposed yearly at the Miramar Landfill, which spans over 1,500 acres and is the City of San Diego's only active landfill." [link to www.sandiego.gov] |

| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1100144 08/26/2011 11:06 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The article says the smell of gas. Remember the last time so many people reported smelling gas? A whole neighborhood literally blew up. I thought for sure that PG&E would be held responsible for that one but nope. That was murder basically. They knew about the leak for weeks and did nothing. Damn elites get away with the most mind blowing shit! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1521444 That was in an upscale Northern California community...we got PG&E up here and they are paying out the ears ... althought not what they should be. |

They don't have a text-version of the story up on their website yet. Quoting: birdie I was outside a lot today and didn't smell anything where I am, but they said they were getting a lot of calls in some areas, especially University Heights. Maybe there's something on Twitter... Imperial Beach to Oceanside, but sporadic, and mostly only in the beach areas. . |

| birdie (OP) User ID: 764206 08/26/2011 11:54 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Well, my hubby and I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. Lo and behold, a neighbor down the block had spread manure on his lawn!! So, that explains the smell in OUR part of San Diego, but obviously it wasn't "the" smell that is being reported. I took some pics of the sky I will upload here in a minute. |

| suchacuriousgirl User ID: 1522578 08/27/2011 01:17 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | my throat was very scratchy and sore at the time of the smell too. I tend to agree with the previous post, that this is fallout from the now 2nd phase of burning of radioactive debris in Japan per Arnie Gunderson at Fairewinds.com. Seems quite plausible. The san diego electric company has no idea what is going on this evening and has had 300 calls so far. |
