But what I can definitely say with confidence is that it is NOT elenin as whatever it is it's interacting with the atmosphere to cause the tail like thing. my first thought was atmosphere, but on second thought i think it has to be outside our atmosphere. For one thing, eiter we have had three metoers in the past month that have all had identical tails, or the three vids a posts ago are of the same object. If it is the same object i dont see how it could be in our atmosphere for a month without falling/burning up. One thing the vids have in common is the angle of the sun - either early am or sunset, not sure which yet. a comet in space does have a tail, so thinking if this is in space, the tail must be huge, big enough (or - gulp - close enough) to be reflecting the sunlight like that. What is seen in this video is a high flying jet - observed perpendicularly to the observer...with its contrails showing directly behind the aircraft. Late, or early in the day, or indeed - days when there is less vapour in the upper atmosphere to create long contrails...you will get short contrails. The reason its seen on different days in the same area of the sky is because there will be a upper airways route over the observer/filmer, a different aircraft is seen.....and then the aircraft will start to become visible at the lower edges of the sky - rather than more directly overhead....where, at this time of day they are virtually invisible. Its just a jet!   |
