Quoting: WatchmenOnTheWall Just getting started op , once the power is lost and the surge rolls in at 8 am you will have a massive domino effect and panic, good luck though Thanks, I'm ok though. I'm up 125 feet above sea level, and well out of storm surge. |

Could have/should have been worse with more wind. We haven't gotten any real winds to talk about here in NYC. That's what I mean when I say a dud. |

More Media Hype & Sensationalism Bullshit! well this dud hurricane has dropped thousands of tress here in Virginia. Power is out some say 1 to 2 weeks. My county has called and said 75% of the roads in the county are blocked by trees across the road. Glad my generator works and I got plenty of gas before hand. Well i wouldn't said this is a dud.. Quoting: zzbudzz Officials said we were supposed to have a cat 3 here in NYC which of course we didn't have. Thank God. It came in as a cat 1. In that respect, it was a dud. Not much wind at all so far, but plenty of rain. |

More Media Hype & Sensationalism Bullshit! It didn't have the power that everyone thought, and I fought with my family about it. Everyone was so worried about it, but I told them it wouldn't be no where as bad as they made it out to be. No one would listen. So now here's the weather forecast for NYC where I'm located, and where this dud is supposed to hit. See below: Quoting: WatchmenOnTheWall Sunday...Tropical storm conditions expected with hurricane conditions possible. Isolated thunderstorms in the morning. Rain. Rain may be heavy at times. Highs in the mid 70s. Northeast winds 55 to 70 mph...becoming northwest 50 to 60 mph in the afternoon. Gusts up to 80 mph...decreasing to 75 mph in the afternoon. Chance of rain near 100 percent. Don't get me wrong. I'm very happy it will be a dud. Now all you hurricane doomers can stop all the bullshit sensationalism along with the lamestream media! More Media Hype & Sensationalism Bullshit! I'm right on Father Capodanno, shitload of rain right now and pretty windy. I hope the surge isn't too crazy in the morning. Trying to pull an all nighter here Quoting: CosmoKramer 1524254 My son John also lives there on father cap as your neighbor. He left my home where we were hunkered down around 2:30am, and went back there with his young 3 year old daughter, and pregnant wife. So stupid. Me and my wife are so pissed and worried about them. It's 6:45am, and high tide will be about 8:30am. We are also worried about storm surge there as well. |

More Media Hype & Sensationalism Bullshit! Even the news people who have been placed out on the coastal areas throughout NYC are "ALL" saying they are just not seeing the wind with this storm that would make it a hurricane. They did say however that there's certainly lots of rain with this system. |

How many people die on a normal summer weekend on the East Coast? I'd bet fewer people died this weekend than normal, because most of them were safe and cozy inside watching the hype-icane instead of driving drunk and riding their jetskis. |

Current conditions here in NYC/Staten Island as of 7:30am: Weather: Heavy Rain Fog/Mist and Breezy Temperature: 72°F (22°C) Humidity: 94 % Wind Speed: NE 21 G 43 MPH Barometer: 28.86 in. (977.2 mb) Dewpoint: 70°F (21°C) Visibility: 1.50 mi. This is not so bad, and the way it's been all evening during this so called hurricane. This is why I was calling this one a dud. |

More Media Hype & Sensationalism Bullshit! I don't get it...... according to the news channel I am watching it hasn't hit yet so isn't it a little early to talk about it's severity until after it's actually hit? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1524591 They're talking about the eye of the storm. That is almost here, but after that, we will get the back side of the storm. I think the worst is over now though. The back side of this storm will blow the storm surge back out to sea, but they're not telling you that. They still want to hype it up. |
