Re: DREAMS are merely glimpses of parallel universes

LOL.. Well, what I mean is making a choice, let's say ehmm.. you are not happy with your job. You quit and find another job. Then you meet a co-worker who turns out to be the love of your life, you get married and have 10 kis (...).
On the other hand you dislike your job, but stay anyway, you meet the love of your life (this life and another person) in a bar, you get married and have 2 kids.
You see what I mean? Suppose those two choices/possibilities exist in seperate universes.
Yes, I know, then you would have an infinite number of universes...

the day after I was born, I had a case of the green squirts, which covered my old man's shirt in copious quantities of faecal matter

this pissed him off so much, he walked out, and was never seen again, and my mother married a millionaire consequently.

all I'm saying is, shit happens.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 912820

that didn't actually happen BTW

or DID it, eh?

Re: DREAMS are merely glimpses of parallel universes
Dreaming is the same as thinking or using your imagination, but your unconscious so your subconscious is doing the thinking. That's why everything in a dream seems so random but somehow connected.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1525756

You just described all of experienced reality, though you've got it a bit backwards since the majority of people are using the subconscious in the "waking" state.

Your 2 eyes are using sunlight during the day for the object/observer function, so what is the light source when your eyes are shut?

That's the million dollar question.

Re: DREAMS are merely glimpses of parallel universes
I think this is very possible and probable but I also have to consider that THIS life is influencing this 'parallel life' because some of my dreams are a direct result of what's currently going on here. Ya know what I mean?

I also have always felt that dreaming is a preview of how the other side will be. We're detached from our bodies but our consciousness lives on.

Re: DREAMS are merely glimpses of parallel universes
I have always wondered why it is that in my dreams, many times I see faces and encounter people I have never met in my entire life. I have experienced many dreams over the years where I'm with people, interacting or in locations that I have never seen or experienced in real life. They are so vivid that on a few occasions I was so terrified that I would wake up screaming for a split second. How can this be? How can the subconscience create a face or human interaction (in dream state) - played out before my closed eyeballs and there is nothing in real life to solidify what it is in reality my brain is trying to solve.

Imagined reality needs no light source. And since your eyes get their input electrically to your brain it's possible there is no light source in your perceived reality.

I think its true. if your dead relative appears in your dream, ask his what is the current date and what is he doing and when u wake up, recollect as what was ur relative during that date and what was he doing. this is the way to communicate with the personality of choice with the parallel universe guys

LOL I had a dream last night I was in a college class pantless.. Stranger yet is I haven't been in college for 16 years. The ladies didn't seem to mind.

What about dreams where you are flying though? Does that mean we are able to fly in other universes?

And what about dreams where you realize you are dreaming and start doing things different, like making things appear or dissappear?

The idea of dreams being alternate universes does feel right, but it doesn't explain the above.

Re: DREAMS are merely glimpses of parallel universes
What about becoming lucid while you're dreaming? Doesn't that prove that this theory is false? I mean If I flick a light switch in my dream and go lucid, what happens to the 'other' me in the parallel world? I am taking his place as consciousness.

What about dreams directly related to specific occurences?

What about insomnia? If I stop sleeping for a period of time here, wouldn't that throw off the mathmatical jumping ability for the other mes?

What about deaths in dreams? If I jump into another version of myself in the multidimensional universe and die, how would it be possible for the other version of me to experience either death or life if i'm taking over the conscious space?

Why do I have the same personality while dreaming? Wouldn't each unique experience in another dimension give me a unique individuality?

I don't think I can buy it. It's a cool thought, however. 5* OP.

just some random thoughts..

1) Lucid dreaming: Perhaps this is all a dream and if you concentrate hard enough, you can make things happen.

2) specific occurrences: what about it? you can have the same event happening in parallel universe. I suspect certain events are inevitable in any universe (i.e: birth and end of the particular universe).

3) insomnia: I think if you take away the 'time' element from the equation, this will not be an issue. Sometimes a 10min nap can produce a dream that feels like years have passed by, Maybe our lifetime is only a 5min nap.

4) death in dreams: assuming only two certainties in life (beginning and end), maybe we live through one life per dream or maybe we are living multiple at once. We do not always remember our full dream, only parts of it. If there is no time 'constraint', then we can breeze through one life to another, sort of like watching multiple TV programs and pausing them.

5) personality: you do not necessary have the same personality, sometimes I do things in my dreams I wouldn't do in "real life" ;)

If we take away the 'time factor', then everything sort of falls into place. If you think about it, 'time' is pretty much invented by man and it is a tool used to keep order and track the flow of events. If we leave it out of the equation then living through parallel universe during dreams is totally feasible. Perhaps this would explain reincarnation too...maybe you have already met certain people in your dreams, that is why you feel a certain way towards them when you first meet them in this life.

thats right folks , when you dream, you are actually seeing your other lives being played out.. this is the only answer to dreams that make sense, because they are so odd and out of this world, that is because THEY ARE , out of this world in fact they are out of this universe..

well...

totally over simplifying here so I think of it this way.

1. the brain is like a super computer.

2. the body a receiver through sensations.

3. the universe never ceases to produce information.

4. this information is constantly bombarding everything as everything is vibrating even when seemingly at rest.

5. our physicality is ruled by ripples of information.

6. our minds/bodies both receive and give off information causing overlapping ripples endlessly.

7. when sleeping the mind/body is still picking up information

8. in dreams the brain is using a store house of prototype memories when interpreting information

9. so, it grabs whatever it can to translate information

just a thought.

how do i change my dimensional view then?
in most my dreams i spit up teeth or punch like a pansy while getting laughed at...

Re: DREAMS are merely glimpses of parallel universes
Last night's dream is driving me nuts cause I was either married to a porn star or she was my girlfriend. April O Neil is her name. Most of my dreams are like this, that I have a awesome rich life style. Its kind of a tease when you wake up. Like 2 nights ago I was living in this huge house. It gets frustrating lol but when I'm dreaming its a amazing feeling I can't explain.
