For the past 2 years, my dreams seems like they are altered versions of my current life. It occurred to me, that I have been looking through a glass darkly, at my other incarnations. http:voicescarry.info "I AM the Resurrection & the light"!! (Sammy Hagar/Chickenfoot) |

Because you are you, but everything else is soooo different, and yet you feel so much for the people around you, and they are total strangers, at least to your conscience self. My dreams are destructive, dark, weird... I hope dearly that after we die we don't wander this wasteland and inequity.. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1512799 United States 08/29/2011 02:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Last night I had one of those dreams with a backstory, in other words my dream character had a historical relationship to locations and objects stretching back into time. My dream character had unique memories of events related to the dream space; a dreamtime history. So it does seem plausible dreams are of parallel universes but on the other hand a lot of nonsense goes on in dreams too. Really strange thing get a free pass in dreams but if the same thing happened in real life it would be way over the top. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1280588 United States 08/29/2011 02:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Boll...ocks! Dreams are the mind defragging the subconscious memory (as opposed to the conscious), cleaning up and filing/storing bits of 'files' that have not been filed properly by the brain due to the active conscious taking up processing power when awake (RAM). In order for the brain to defrag, the conscious needs to be in downtime, i.e., we are asleep and not using consciousness so the 'programme' can clean up the subconscious (Hard drive). I don't get it. But I guess one opinion is as good as another :) |

Yes ok well think of this subconscious memory being actual events taking place in other realms. Its really mind boggling stuff. I like the way you think though. at least its outside of the box |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1525829 United States 08/29/2011 03:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Body healing dreams: This is why you need sleep each night. The subconscious repairs the body thru images. These dreams are fragmented and don't make a lot of sense, because they are just the pictures needed to instruct the body thru repairs. Parallel reality dreams: These dreams have a storyline and make sense because they are lifelike. They may be odd, but you experience them the same way you do waking daily life, and the emotions in them affect you just as if they were experienced while awake. (There is a 3rd kind of dream, which is evolutionary, but that's another subject.) |

I've often wondered about how imagination fits in with the brain as a computer analogy (cue the twighlight zone theme - we're living in a matrix) so this can be aligned with the analogy of artificial intelligence. Just like AI allows for learning/testing possibilities in machines, imagination allows for the same in our biological processor. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 1165613 United States 08/29/2011 07:46 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have thought this for a long time. I think some things seem random and out of place because the brain can not dream of an object it has never seen. It tries to translate that image into something similar. I have had a deja vue dream where I was talking to my sister. Five years later that situation really happened but I didn't know the girl I was talking to but she had the same name as my sister. |

Some questions to you and others: What is your opinion about the quantity of parallel universes? A few or infinite? Ever considered a "deja vu" did happen (or happens "now"), but in a parallel universe? What is your opinion about making choices and in that way "moving" to another universe? |

The Euclidean geometry is defined by five axioms of which the fifth is: Through a point not on a given straight line, at most one line can be drawn that never meets the given line. The elliptical geometry changes this to: Through a point not on a given straight line, *no* lines can be drawn that never meet the given line. 2 years ago Report Abuse 100% 1 Vote |

I bet it causes havoc in the other universes. |

Well, what I mean is making a choice, let's say ehmm.. you are not happy with your job. You quit and find another job. Then you meet a co-worker who turns out to be the love of your life, you get married and have 10 kis (...). On the other hand you dislike your job, but stay anyway, you meet the love of your life (this life and another person) in a bar, you get married and have 2 kids. You see what I mean? Suppose those two choices/possibilities exist in seperate universes. Yes, I know, then you would have an infinite number of universes... |
