Re: Christians (Past & Present) ~ What Is Your Source?
In this day and age, people think that being intolerant and close-minded is a sinful thing. Do you want to know the only good reason to have an open mind? It's to finally close it upon the truth. To have a perpetually open mind; you're like a city sewer, it accepts everything and anything into it. The only good reason to have an open mind is to finally close it upon the truth. I'm not open to 2+2 = 5, I'm closed on it being equal to 4.

I'm not open to any other way to God and forgiveness of sins but through Jesus Christ.
The false gospel: If you don't continually perform, you're out.

The true Gospel: Believe.

Hi Fidokrab.

It's a good point you make about 'open mindedness'. There's more to it though than just having an 'open mind'. In regards to how I go about rendering God's Creation for myself, I take a look at everything and treat it as a big block of potential. Then, through the use of spiritual discernment, I chisel off that which does not ring true in my heart, or 'the sewage' as you refer to it. What's left over is what I picture in my mind. My 'rendering' of God's Creation.

The name 'Jesus Christ' is a Western meme that would mean nothing to someone in a far off place that had never heard of Christianity. What I'm after is what is the meaning behind the name? And can that meaning be found in the experiences and history of those other far off lands?
