Re: BREAKING>>ISS to "possibly" be abandoned!
There is some legitimate but still unconfirmed speculation that during times when our solar system passes through such "fluff" our heliosphere is compressed to a radius of less than 1 AU that our planet is exposed to a much higher than normal concentration of cosmic rays, resulting in increased cloud formation and dramatic climate changes. The heliosphere is nowhere near being compressed to a 1 AU radius however, these changes take place over thousands of years and pose no threat to us, our children, or our children's children. In summation, it's nothing to worry about on a human timescale.

I would love to read more about the "fluff" and compressed heliosphere.

Can you please put some links to validate yours statements?

Increased cosmic rays due to heliosphere compression to a radius much closer to the earth would not be good for us:

Fortunately, these are changes that take place over thousands of years, we're in no danger.

how do YOU know it hasn't already been happening for thousands of years?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1525382

As far as the local fluff is concerned, it has been, and it will be for thousands more, but the heliosphere is far beyond the inner solar system and is nowhere near compressed enough to be a threat. In fact, it may never get to the point that it is a threat this time.

Re: BREAKING>>ISS to "possibly" be abandoned!
This thread reminded me of something that I heard Ed Dames (remote viewer)say on Art Bell. He said the begining of the end would start with the space shuttle cutting a mission short and returning due to a meteor shower. I thought after last shuttle mission and no mishap all was clear.
What if what Ed Dames remote viewed was the astronauts escaping the ISS in escape pods due to a meteor storm, or a situation like Elenin.
Now for all you skeptics this is just a mental exercise I do not claim to believe in all this nor do I deny all this.
The topics on this site and others like it are just a hobby so direct your hate away from me.

Thank for the article update.

I was not wrong when I posted it.

I went by the facts presented at the time. Think about it. My source was everyone's favorite sensationalist news entertainment agency ... FOX.

That said, it seems they have clarified things over the last three hours with subsequent articles. The article link you provided does say there is a strong possibility they may have to abandon the ISS if they cannot get the Soyuz manned spacecraft up and running by end of year. That means there is still some merit to the subject. I'll edit the subject to say "possibly."

That said, I agree. This thread has served its purpose in raising awareness and can be unpinned now.

Saw this on FOX news, so no link yet. Basically, they said the ISS would be abandoned beginning on September 16th through October or even November. The main cause is the lack of supplies because of the crash of the supply rocket in Russia.

In light of the Elenin / Nibiru theories for the coming fall, one could easily say, "How convenient?"

Basically, effective Sep 16, there will be no humans in space. I think I'll go celebrate by watching Apollo 18.

Fluff, huh?

A 6000C energetic helium/hydrogen plasma with densities high enough to be electrically conductive(think CME's reaching to earth) that will take us 20 years to get thru.

Yeah, we'll probably all just sleep thru it.
Let's compare notes in 10 years.

How Would NASA & Russia Evacuate the International Space Station?

The space station evacuation is one possibility following the failure of the unmanned Russian supply spacecraft just after its Aug. 24 launch — a surprise given the reliable track record of its workhorse Soyuz rocket. The vehicle’s Progress 44 cargo craft, and its 2.9 tons of supplies bound for the International Space Station, crashed in Siberia.

An investigation into the cause of the failure is under way, but until the issue is resolved NASA and its Russian partners are delaying upcoming launches to crews and cargo to the space station. The Soyuz rockets used to launch Progress vehicles are similar to ones used to launch crews into orbit, station managers said. [Photos: Russia's Lost Cargo Ship Progress 44]

So if a root cause isn't found quickly, they may have to ground manned Soyuz rockets for the time being, forcing the space agencies to leave the $100 billion orbiting laboratory unmanned for the first time since 2001.

"The focus of the entire program, and in particular our Russian colleagues, is to determine the cause of the anomaly and to resolve it and to get back to flying safely," said Mike Suffredini, NASA’s space station program manager, during a briefing today (Aug. 29). “We’ll focus on keeping the crews safe. Our next focus is to try to keep the ISS manned."

Only once before, after the 2003 space shuttle Columbia disaster, which destroyed that orbiter and its crew, did NASA consider evacuating the International Space Station — a process agency officials call "de-manning." In that case, though, managers decided to continue sending crews to the station on Soyuz rockets until the shuttle was ready to fly again.

The space station was designed to be able to operate autonomously, without crew onboard, if it needs to.

"If we have to de-man ISS, we do certainly have a safe way to do that as well," Suffredini said. "We’ll try to prevent that if we can."

The largest risk of evacuating the station is the possibility that some major component could break, or a significant anomaly could occur, and no astronauts would be available on orbit to fix it.

"There is a greater risk of losing ISS when it's unmanned than if it were manned," Suffredini said. "That’s why we made our decision after the Columbia accident to keep it manned, because the risk is not insignificant."

I was told (and some here remember GLP being told) that this is the exact 'type' of things we would see occurring. But, we shouldn't jump at everything that seems a little odd.

But, IMO, this seems a LOT odd. Things add up, and to disregard that we were told that we would begin seeing some of this stuff taking place...

I remember Boeing Guys words...he said look for ISS to have no one on it. Of course they would give excuses, and not any 'real' information.

So, I am going to wait until ALL crew is removed. When that is a fact, and no one is sitting up there...THAT is unprecedented, and should be examined very closely.

But the FOX article says MORE Astronauts will be going up in Nov.
"Russia on Monday delayed the return to Earth of three astronauts. The RIA news agency said those members of the crew would now return to Earth around Sept. 16 instead of Sept. 8 and new crew members would blast off in late October or early November instead of on Sept. 22.
"The crew on orbit is doing very well," Suffredini said. But if the Russians are unable to send up a new crew in that time frame, they will consider autonomous operations..."

In fact at NASA they said this:

Astronauts may need to leave the International Space Station if Russian Soyuz rockets remain grounded beyond mid-November, believes NASA.
 Quoting: Whoami

So then, all Russia would have to do is just SAY that because of the investigation into to the failure of the recent mission they just can't possibly be confident about putting anything else up into space before February/March, and then there are the "weather windows" etc.

So sorry.....

And voila!! The reason that the astronauts need to leave.

Re: BREAKING>>ISS to "possibly" be abandoned!
It is a good thing they sent that robot up there. You know, just in case nobody was on the station.

LINEAR ELENIN COMPARISON
SINCE NO ONE WILL TELL YOU WHAT GOING ON WITH C 2010 /X1 ELENIN see comet Comet LINEAR (C/1999 S4)breakup in July Aug 2000

HUBBLE JULY 4-7 NUCLEUS BEGINS NON TIDAL BREAK UP!

HUGE X RAY EMISSION SURVEYED 14-15 JULY

Using soft x-ray observations of the bright new comet C/1999 S4 (LINEAR) with the Chandra x-ray observatory, we have detected x-ray line emission created by charge exchange between highly ionized solar wind minor ions and neutral gases in the comet's coma. The emission morphology was symmetrically crescent shaped and extended out to 300,000 kilometers from the nucleus. The emission spectrum contains 6 lines at 320, 400, 490, 560, 600, and 670 electron volts, attributable to electron capture and radiative deexcitation by the solar wind species C+5, C+6, N+7, O+7, and O+8. A contemporaneous 7-day soft x-ray light curve obtained using the Extreme Ultraviolet Explorer demonstrates a large increase in the comet's emission coincident with a strong solar flare on 14 and 15 July 2000.

DISINTEGRATION COMPLETE 18-19 JULY

We analyzed photometric measurements and images of comet C/LINEAR before perihelion and after its breakup. Results from our photometry data include a lower limit of 0.44 kilometer for the radius of the nucleus before breakup, and a determination that it was depleted in carbon-chain molecules relative to most other comets. Our imaging and modeling results, which include a constraint on the rotational state of the nucleus, indicate that the disintegration likely started on 18 or 19 July 2000. The total mass detectable in the dust tail after the breakup was 3 × 108 kilograms, comparable to one of the fragments in the Hubble Space Telescope images; we therefore infer that most of the comet's original mass is hidden in remnants between 1 millimeter and 50 meters in diameter.

Don't forget all the unusual circumstances around the Russian rocket crash. Page 8 of this thread talks about some:
Thread: Windows Blown Out For 60 Miles, What The Hell Was On The Russian Rocket ( Update: GLP finds huge lie in story) (Page 8)

I'm still trying to decode two "messages" I think the elite sent with this rocket failure. One has to do with the 12 portrait paintings on board the supply ship and the other with the news, the day following the crash, that 40 lumberjacks returned from the forest "safely" [safely was in quotes].

Just throwing ideas out here. Twelve could represent 12 Israeli tribes or 12 signs of the zodiac. They were destroyed in the explosion. The number 40 may signify a trial or transition period (Noah's flood rained for 40 days; Moses and Jesus were tested for 40 days). So the messages of the lumberjacks could be that a transition period has completed "safely".

There is definitely more to this whole story than meets the eye. I do think they want the ISS unmanned and carefully planned for it.

Sounds like a great excuse to bring the astro's back home before TEOTWAWKI.
I saw Sickscent post earlier..Chad what do you indeed think about this development?
Quoting: This is NOT good! 1526691

Do you remember the thread name on Boeing Guy?
(So many "guys" and"dudes" speaking doom here, hard to keep track!)
