Start reading the Bible, go to www.theseason.org they lay the bible out chapter by chapter and verse by verse. You do not have to beg God, He is there at all times. Study to shew yourself approved. Maybe it is not for you to have ears to hear and eyes to see.

But they don't bother me the least bit. I understand where they are coming from.

It's just so sad that they have to revert to such meaningless measures. Swears and pictures and whatever else reveal sin, and all I can do is pray that they will see their need of a Savior--our Lord Jesus Christ.

I lean gnostic so I have a different interpretation on the praise. I believe, when you are truly grateful as you would be in offering praise, that your energy tunes into a higher spiritual realm (realm of Christ). It's like opening a conduit between you, your higher self and divinity. It's quite a lovely feeling.

This thread, I feel, is meant for those Christians who view it--to stop whatever they are doing and be quiet and Listen. Then Pray and Praise.

I think God sees the attacks to His followers that are coming more frequently and stronger these days, because Satan knows his days are short. He wants us to stop and Listen. Close our eyes and Listen. When we do this and focus on the Holy Spirit, then Pray and Praise--the devil will flee.

You might hear God say something to you, too.

Are you familiar with the book of Job?

He was one of God's upright men and was severely tested--he had family, wealth, health--everything stripped from him.
He cried out to God "Oh that I knew where I might find him!" Job 23:3

He said "Lord, I want you to show me why you're doing this to me. We've always been on good terms and you've been my best friend. I'm not against you and am not going to turn against you, but I need an explanation and I want you to give it." But the Lord didn't reply--not yet.

How many of us have felt this way, sometimes, when we pray to God and feel like He's not there?

Then Job said ""But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him.

When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him. Job 23: 8,9
Job looked in all directions--east, west, north, south and couldn't catch a "glimpse of him"

Yet, he continues to say "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.
My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.
I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my daily bread."

The Lord tested Job most severely--not in all that he lost, but in what he didn't lose--his faith. He prayed and looked up to God and it was as if God wasn't even there.


He learned to believe God even when He couldn't perceive Him. He had faith and didn't rely on His feeling.
We must all remember this, that when we pray, we pray believing that God hears us. We don't rely on feeling, but the facts--the facts that are in the Bible.

Faith requires being convinced that what we believe in is true'

I read a book called "Lord, change me" that changed my life. Basically, just pray for God to make you more Christ-like everyday. And understand that everything that happens in your life has passed through His hands. You are already right where He wants you. His timing is perfect. Just keep praying, "Not my will Lord, but Yours."
