The only thing known to cause magnetic pole reversals on Earth: dense space clouds.

Nice video and that old dude is spot on when he says it's not really possible to say when anything major will happen. The process has started most likely before most of us were even born and we're only now seeing the effects of the changes occurring. We can only guess as to what will happen exactly.

I find it interesting that he mentions a magnetic axis that governs the motions of the galaxy. If only we could see the magnetic fields in space we would see the universe in a much different way.

Thanks, I'm glad people find it interesting and thought provoking. The exact nature of the coming events and changes are not fully known or understood, a guess at best based upon past events and our current knowledge. At the very least it shows something is happening on a scale much bigger than ourselves.

Well something is affecting many planets and moons in our system - with many scientists pointing out that they are having what we would call 'sudden climate change' all at once - as is Earth.

I can think of only three causal things to explain this:
- the Sun is radiating out some frequency or wavelength that is causing changes
- the solar system is moving into a region of space which is 'different' from where we have been travelling - ie similar to your opening post
- our solar system is being irradiated or bathed in some rays, frequencies or wavelengths from somewhere outside the solar system

- all of the above

The one thing we can probably count on is the universe being big enough to include possibilities we cannot think of. Your list of three is surely insufficient.

If nothing is there to observe it happening then it may as well not be happening at all. Everything we have observed has shown that we are moving into a different space environment than the one we've been in for the past 10,000-12,000 years roughly. So while anything is possible it doesn't mean anything or everything possible will happen.

Since first hearing about this subject only weeks ago, I have read everything I can get my hands on about it. I can't get enough information about this, so...I have to say I appreciate whatever you can produce for our consumption of this new info to mentally digest, please. I have no doubt that nature would kill us with no more thought than a snap of her finger.
I have no illusions that anyone or anything is going to save us. The Earth is all that matters. It will weather an ice age well enough. It has many times before and will many times henceforth.
The most egregious error would be in assuming it won't/can't happen in an instant. We were taught in school as children that beasts were caught unawares with cud still in their mouths, weren't we?
So it can happen in seconds at any moment even five minutes from now.
At what point of heliosphere shrinkage would this pole reversal most likely occur? Is a pole reversal singular evidence of an instant ice age, in fact? What accompanies a pole reversal, like super-heated magnetic energy? What bundle of events freeze-dried dinosaurs in their tracks? What was the heliosphere shrinkage at that time, 35%, 50%, 80% or 100%?

(Page 135) or the other astrophysical thread Thread: SOLAR WATCH * Huge X8.2 Flare Sept. 10, 2017! (Updated Daily) (Page 721) , the nasa data showing the heliosphere, or at least the earths magnetic field lines, blowing backwards from deep space over the earth and back towards the sun, apparently for the first time ever. Someone mentioned that the data got censored out a few hours later, but there still must be some screen shots of the event out there among us.
