What does this mean?

What does a -0.10 magnitude earthquake mean? I see a couple of these on the list of quakes on El Hierro.
 Quoting: Idgits

Certain earthquakes have a negative magnitude, is this an error?
No, it is not an error. As magnitude calculations are based on a logarithmic scale, a ten-fold drop in amplitude decreases the magnitude by 1. Let us assume that on a seismogram:

•an amplitude of 20 millimetres corresponds to a magnitude 2 earthquake.
•10 times less (2 millimetres) corresponds to a magnitude of 1;
•100 times less (0.2 millimetres) corresponds to magnitude 0;
•1000 times less (0.02 millimetres) corresponds to magnitude -1.
Naturally, a negative magnitude is found only for very small events, which are not felt by humans.

Oh man, that's a HUGE increase since 12 hours ago. 12 hours ago it was 6,572. Now it's at 6801. That's 229 quakes in 12 hours!!!!!! We are DEFINITELY seeing a heightened amount of activity.

"The number of daily earthquakes recorded on the smallest of the Canary Islands (Spain), El Hierro, has increased considerably in recent days. The Instituto Volcanologico de Canarias has also reported a 1cm inflation over part of the island’s volcano following on from GPS analysis.

The total number of tremors recorded during the past five weeks has now exceeded 4200, according to the Instituto Geografico Nacional (IGN).

The majority of the earth tremors range between 1 and 3 magnitude. More than 431 earthquakes, including one measuring 3.5 magnitude on the Richter Scale, were recorded on Monday (22 August) alone."

This is very noteworthy. This much activity means that the Canary Islands may be coming back to life! We have gone through the possibility of a tsunami created by a massive quake or volcanic explosion on those islands here on GLP. This MAY be just the event needed to initiate the conditions needed to cause this to happen! Check out this youtube video where scientists discuss the way this may in fact happen. VERY informative.

Explanation of how Canary Island quake could lead to a MASSIVE MEGA TSUNAMI that would wipe out entire U.S. East Coast.

Good God! Talk about the Freemasons and Illuminati being fucking thorough! If one Hurricane, and Tropical Storm doesn't fucking flood the shit out of EVERYONE, they'll make sure their OVERKILL method is the VERY definition of "overkill". Good luck to everyone on the East Coast... because you'll need it soon... very soon.

This is the Creator letting TPTB and edom (you know who you are) their time is just about up. Excellent!

In looking at this, I'm not sure I agree with this. Only because, I found something very easy to contradict. So, if one thing can be proven false, how much else can be proven false?

"Does the earth open up during an earthquake?
No! A common misconception is that of a hole in the ground that opens during an earthquake to swallow up unfortunate victims. This has nothing to do with reality but is Hollywood's version of earthquakes. After a strong earthquake, some cracks may be seen on the ground or in basements. These are not faults, nor are they crevasses ready to close up again. Theses cracks are probably due to soil settlement caused by the ground shaking."

I have been to several fault lines. The San Andreas fault in California near Pt. Reyes is a wide trench about 8 feet across and 2 feet deep. It was caused by the plates sliding during the 1989 Loma Prietta earthquake and by the 1906 San Francisco quake. I've also seen massive sinkholes appear immediately after quakes. So...not sure I buy this one. Anytime ground moves and is displaced from an earthquake the risk of the ground caving in is natural.

Wow. It would make sense to see Atlantis being in that area. Mostly because they're very active islands. Another island could've been located in the area that simply crumbled OR, a tsunami could've occured by a falling cliff wall that just inundated everything and wiped out the entire population in one big wave. Interesting info. Thanks for the post. The Guanche have come up several times in my research on this island chain.

Google Earth has some really good views of what once was a very large thriving civilization. Presently, only the base of the structures can be seen. They built using no mortor. It was said that the island was covered in hanging gardens... because when one approached on a ship from the sea, all that could be seen were mountains of vinyards of every kind of plant species known to man. The terrace farming that was used to create that affect is also visible on google earth.

I'm wondering if a displacement from Hierro could cause a tsunami that would put extra pressure on La Palma causing it to react. The weight of that extra water on that area could squeeze it enough that the rebound effect could cut it loose.

Re: Best El Hierro Thread On GLP - Canary Islands - ACTIVITY HAS RETURNED - AGAIN!
The chain reaction of one major quake leading to another is surely what this is all about. Theres the chance of a tsunami putting pressure on loose cliff faces around entire canary system. It also has the possibility of causing volcanic eruptions as millions of tons of rock fall off the cliff faces. Pressure being forced upwards from volcanic sourcesd that once could not escape will suddenly have much less resistance to bust thru. Its also about whats happening with all the debris being pushed through the water in a potential tsunami. When all that stuff slams into another island or boats or underwater formations it'll be like a dynamite sledge hammer slamming into whatever stands in its way.

theres a certain amount of stress that pops up when people talk about true doomage. It allows for people to be people they're normally not. I want to learn more about the history of the islands AND the history of the north western rim of Africa. I wonder if the islands are products of underwater portions of africa? Or...if these islands popped up independtly. If this is in fact an idependent island chain then more islands could pop up. If theyre worn down sections of Africa...that changes everything.

It is an independant island chain. And they are part of a bigger set of islands that sank some 10,575 years ago, and some portions that sank some 50,000years ago. The original Atlantis broke up 1st-50,000yrs ago in a smaller chain of islands from a huge continent. Then 10,575 yrs ago the largest island sank and then just a few thousand years ago the remaining pieces were sumerged. This info. comes from Edgar Cayce but i agree with it.

[link to all-ez.com]

The info. starts at 3.

And the fact that pyramids has recently been located there that were unknown is amazing information as to why there are currently earthquakes taking place there.

PIRAMIDES DE GÜIMAR, SPAIN.

Six step pyramids were re-discovered in 1990

near Guimar, a town on the eastern shore of

Tenerife Island, the Canary Islands. They are

still a mystery to archaeologists. They have a

noticeable similarity to the pyramids built by the

Maya and Aztecs in Mexico. The main complex

of three pyramids were found to be astronomically

orientated with an east-west alignment on the

summer solstice. The stairways are all on the

west wall, suggesting a ceremonial purpose,

because someone ascending them on the

morning of the solstice would be directly facing

the rising sun.

In 1991, researchers of the Canary Institute of

Astrophysics, proved that the long sides of some

of the terrace structures at Güímar marked the

direction of both solstices. If you stand on the

platform of the largest pyramid on the day of

the Summer Solstice it is possible to experience

a double sunset! The sun first sets behind a

mountain top, then re- emerges from behind

the mountain and sets a second time behind a

neighboring mountain peak.

It is also interesting to note that ancient sailors

from as long ago as 2000 B.C. used the Canary

Currents to sail from the Canary Islands to the

Americas, as did Christopher Columbus more

recently in circa 1492. In addition, both Aztec

and the Mayan historical records, writings and

drawings, describe men of Nordic features with

beards, similar to men believed to be the original

inhabitants of the Canary Islands. The blond,

blue-eyed, tall stock has been preserved in part,

and can still be seen today in many individuals on

the islands.

Re: Best El Hierro Thread On GLP - Canary Islands - ACTIVITY HAS RETURNED - AGAIN!
"The vast majority of the tremors have been recorded in the northwest of the 278.5-square-kilometre island at El Golfo, the location of a massive landslide that created a 100-metre high tsunami almost 50,000 years ago. A giant piece of the island cracked off, crashed down into the ocean and scattered along the seabed. This landslide of more than 300km3 gave rise to the impressive amphitheatre of the El Golfo valley and at the same time caused a tsunami that most likely rose over 100 metres high and probably reached as far as the American coast. Geologists hypothesised that a during a future eruption a similar landslide could potentially generate a “megatsunami” some 2000-3000 ft (650–900 m) high in the region of the islands. The huge wave would radiate out across the Atlantic and inundate the eastern seaboard of North America including the American, Caribbean and northern coasts of South America a mere six to eight hours later.”"

Extremely significant drop in activity. Quakes drop to literally nothing for several hours. With recent surface inflation this might indicate the island has reached a resting point...all pressure relieved. However...this might also mean that the island has provided a significant solid mass and the pressure to rumble is meeting resistance. Essentially...it sounds like this is either winding down to a close...or its building to a breaking point..., [link to www.02.ign.es]

It would appear as though the El Hierro reporting stations are down. Canary Islands reporting has been down since yesterday. I thought it was a decline in activity, but it turns out none of their graphs or reporting pages have been updated since yesterday morning at 0800 UTC.
