catch the ML downgrade of the 4.9? we might guess they are downgrading all the others by several ML also?
policy is to not list a 5.+ as real. cap all listings at 4.6 range?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 322602

the main thing that should be considered: óéû of such strength are extremely rare of volcanic nature, and if you are sure that they were actually more than 5 - make your conclusions himself rockon

i guess it's so, and we can expect it to the north from EH, at half way to La Palma (at fault)

i just took the spectrogram of the quake..

and made a sound file of it at 30 times the hertz shown on the chart to make it audible. interesting those divers heard a roar too.

it's also interesting that the roar at la palma is longer than at el hierro :wink;

The Spanish island of El Hierro has begun to move to the east and part of it have risen 11 centimeters in height as a result of the recent seismic activity it has experienced, a local media report said on Saturday.

The quake, which took place off the west of the island with a population of just over 10,000 inhabitants, measured 4.7 on Richter scale and has had the effect of moving the island slightly to the east as a result of the pressure of magma building up under the earth's crust.

The marine geology commented yesterday that there does lurk the possibility of a landslide causing a Tsunami.

Thanks since this started from the beginning my fear has always been that a small Tsunami could be caused because of the volcanic activity in El Hierro and I have been ridiculed called a fearmonger and in a way called stupid and that it could never happen.

Well to date we have had a 4.9 and this thing is still getting stronger .

Surely its better to be forewarned because nobody even the scientist really know where this is all going to end !!!

Quite a cluster of 3's overnight and in the past few hours.
Very interesting to watch and read about this.
It would be interesting if they brought the cameras back again. I am assuming there is no 'stain' with the latest eruptions like there was last time.

You are right to be concerned. What path do you think it would follow if that did happen?
At least we are aware that it could happen. Can you imagine the panic if anything did go wrong. This has received very little publicity. There was a breaking news item the other evening on Sky on a smaller earthquake 100 miles off California but nothing on El Hierro. Must be for tourism reasons or maybe something else.

That is a possible tsunami from La Palma, it has a different amount of material on it's island than El Hierro does so using that scenario is mindless. (not saying you are mindless btw unless it was you who made the video)
