Two things to watch for: heavy seisicity or volcanic eruption on any of the islands coupled with very heavy rainfall, especially on La Palma.

Its likely that the mechanism for flank failure is the water trapped within the island over thousands of years which sits behind non-permeable rock layers. Since the western flank of La Palma has already slipped recently, it may fail completely with minimal impetus.

Well...the rain is definitely there. All of our major hurricanes are starting just south of that region. They come off the African North West coast and then build in pressure and size.
