This Blog is from a German resident, if you look at the second picture you see the epicentric line. That would cut the island in half and I live 100Km away...but fortunately at 1000m altitude. (I can see the N-west-side of El Hierro from my desk here) But I think the eruption will take place in the southern oceanfloor again. At least I hope so. [ link to elhierro1.blogspot.com.es] if those el julan cliffs go, even that might not be high enough locally
