[ link to en.wikipedia.org] It is your house You can build a decorative double layer copper box surrounding the meter to hide it's ugliness all you need is a lift up door for them to read the dials when they come by Thin Plywood lined inside and out with copper and grounded is all you need Yes. You could do that, but they will probably rip it off anyhow. Aluminum foil is cheaper and easier to replace.
