I think they may be ditched in BC anyhow but...If they come onto my property to rip foil from a meter they are going to get bit. Depends on the type of AMR used. Some have internal batteries with 15+ years life expectancy (at least the water meter ones, and some gas meter ones, do). |

When I read about the dangers and invasion of privacy caused by these smart meters and discovered that I now had one, I was pissed. Too late to do anything about it? WRONG!!! Quoting: Sky Pilot You see, the antenna for these meters is located inside the glass (or plastic) bulb. All I had to do was to cover the entire glass bulb with aluminum foil, making sure that the foil was grounded to the metal housing behind the bulb. This shields against any RF or Microwave transmissions, which both protects you from the radiation and also defeats the entire purpose of the smart meter, since they can't read it remotely. Then I sat back and waited for them to realize that they weren't getting any readings from my house. I checked the foil periodically to see if it was still there. Today it happened. They had to send some one out to rip the foil off of my meter to get a manual reading! I found the foil ripped off and laying on the ground. Naturally, I just re-applied the foil and now look forward to them having to send somebody out each and every month to remove the foil if they want to get a reading. NOT LIKE LIKE A FULL ON TARD, BUT LIKE HOMER SIMPSON SPECIAL... RIGHT...??? You complain of privacy concerns but don't mind a stranger coming onto your property every month to read a meter... You complain about the money they spend, but don't consider how much they'll save by not having to send some stranger to your house every month... Then you mess with them with your foil, and want others to follow suit... HOW FREAKING BORED ARE YOU... GET A LIFE... I signed up for this voluntarily, and I love it!!! What's not to... no strangers, accurate billing, up to date statistics, better stability and regulation for the power companies... You might be shocked to hear, but I even went as far as letting them put a special thing to turn off my AC a few min at a time when the plant is being over-drained so that they don't have to get more turbines... Just trying to help them help me... not just being some bored, ignorant prick... And when you or your family strangely develop cancer years down the road, don't come complaining here - do you even know the engery levels these devices are giving off? |

Informed consent is legally required for installation of any surveillance device and any device that will collect and transmit private and personal data to undisclosed and unauthorized parties for undisclosed and unauthorized purposes. Authorization for sharing of personal and private information may only be given by the originator and subject of that information. That authorization is hereby denied and refused with regard to the above property and all its occupants. "Smart Meters" violate the law and cause endangerment to residents by the following factors: 1. They individually identify electrical devices inside the home and record when they are operated causing invasion of privacy. 2. They monitor household activity and occupancy in violation of rights and domestic security. 3. They transmit wireless signals which may be intercepted by unauthorized and unknown parties. Those signals can be used to monitor behavior and occupancy and they can be used by criminals to aid criminal activity against the occupants. 4. Data about occupant's daily habits and activities are collected, recorded and stored in permanent databases which are accessed by parties not authorized or invited to know and share that private data. 5. Those with access to the smart meter databases can review a permanent history of household activities complete with calendar and time-of-day metrics to gain a highly invasive and detailed view of the lives of the occupants. 6. Those databases may be shared with, or fall into the hands of criminals, blackmailers, law enforcement, private hackers of wireless transmissions, power company employees, and other unidentified parties who may act against the interests of the occupants under metered surveillance. 7. "Smart Meters" are, by definition, surveillance devices which violate Federal and State wiretapping laws by recording and storing databases of private and personal activities and behaviors without the consent or knowledge of those people who are monitored. 8. It is possible for example, with analysis of certain "Smart Meter" data, for unauthorized and distant parties to determine medical conditions, sexual activities, physical locations of persons within the home, vacancy patterns and personal information and habits of the occupants. 9. Your company has not adequately disclosed the particular recording and transmission capabilities of the smart meter, or the extent of the data that will be recorded, stored and shared, or the purposes to which the data will and will not be put. Seejanerun User ID: 1522339 United States 08/31/2011 10:22 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This maybe more true than you know. I had a meter break and the electric company told me I owned the meter and was responsible for replacing it. So I say foil where you want to foil. They installed a smart meter on my house when I lived in Columbus. My bill went sky high. I am now in rural WV with no smart meter, no tons of extra insulation and my electric bill has gone down by 2/3s. If WV ever gets up to date with the rest of the world I will remeber this post. Thank you. It's not about the spying, it's about making them come out every month to actually read the meter. The claim was by doing this we can diagnose things easier and read the meter from the office so you will have lower electric bills. Our electric bills compliments of PUCO have gone up 20 % this year so I say screw them. It's hard to make anything fool proof as fools are so ingenious. |

Quoting: JUSTSURVIVEBABY the smart meters use power before it's metered so it's the utility's power, not the consumer's. as for what the OP suggests, it might or might not work. despite the fact that you didn't consent to getting the new meter, that meter still belongs to the utility and they could cause a consumer some serious headaches for messing around with their property. a consumer may win a court case but is it really worth the hassle? there are sneakier ways to do it since smart meters require a network and comm protocols to work. think about it. |

This has caused considerable concern to many people as the meters generate microwave energy to transmit readings. The Geoclense and Area Neutralizer Dome has been tested with the Smart Meters and both do harmonize the microwave radiation created by Smart Meters [link to www.natures-energies.com] [link to harrisorgone.com] SUGGESTIONS FOR PERSONAL AND DOMESTIC USE OF ORGONITE 1. Many of our friends with insomnia report improvement in their sleep after tucking a TB(tower buster) or an HHg(holy hand grenade) under their bed. Some people put a TB under each corner. 2. Place a TB on every electrical device in the home: we’d begin with electrical panels, computers, monitors, televisions, and refrigerators. A simple Gauss metre helps to identify sources of EMF. If you use Wi-Fi, place a TB on it (and please unplug it when not in use). We hope you don’t have a microwave oven. 3. Lay a TB in each corner of the home and/or property for protection against negative energy and EMF. 4. If you have a Smart Meter, set a TB on top of it. If your neighbours’ Smart Meters face your house, put TBs on those. 5. Fasten a TB to the pipes where water enters your house to energise your water supply. Orgonite on your water main sends healing energy, via the water itself, out to your neighbourhood. 6. Dig TBs into your garden or even your houseplants. If you grow sprouts, place them next to a TB. Plants thrive with orgonite. Sharon finds that the general rule of thumb, a TB every 15 feet, works wonders. The big maple in her front yard has its own HHg. Farmers all over the world are experimenting with it too. 7. In your car, place orgonite near your stereo (usually the vehicle’s biggest creator of EMF) or in the glove compartment. We have TBs under the seats and in the trunk. 8. Wear an orgonite pendant. Sharon only removes her Harmonic Protector (created by Carol Croft) to shower; Mike is more flexible : ) We are experimenting with mixtures of crystals and will offer a pendant for sale when we get it right. 9. Carry a small piece of orgonite in your pocket or a TB in your bag. 10. Attach a small piece of orgonite to your cell phone. 11. If you use an electronic keypad, don’t carry it into your pocket without an orgonite key ring or a small piece of orgonite. |

The elephant in the room is the time of use charges, here in Ontario they have it in a lot of homes now,and the power Co.has ended up with a surplus of power in the daytime (highest priced tier), now they tried to sell that power to Quebec and to NY but both said they did not need it,but would take it if Ontario payed THEM to get rid of it. So far this year it has cost Ontario 28 million bucks to get rid of this excess power!! Now do you see what's really going on here? Smart meter's are good when the economy is good and everyone is working, but the fact is that most industry in Ontario has left the Provence in search of better rates. northerntomcat User ID: 1390569 Canada 08/31/2011 12:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It was 35 million they had to pay. OTTAWA — Ontario’s electricity generators have shelled out $35 million this year to get neighbouring jurisdictions to take surplus power off their hands and are helping to drive up the cost of power to consumers in the process. According to the province’s Independent Electrical System Operator (IESO), electricity prices were negative — meaning sellers had to pay buyers in the U.S. or Quebec to take surplus electricity — a total of 95 hours in the first six months of this year. That’s up sharply from the same period in 2010, when there were only 10 hours of negative prices at a cost of $4.2 million. However, it’s down from 2009, when there were 280 hours of negative prices in the first six months, and 351 for the year as a whole.
