I agree, I like it,too! Don't currently have a smart meter but have been thinking there must be ways and probably simply ones to disrupt the transmission - glad foil works.

You seem to be correct about the transmission to the utility being affected since they have come for manual reads but are you certain their is no residual frequencies coming into your home?
