People I really dont know.. things seem really bad here, both in numbers and in the real life. The unemployment hit new highs during the summer, today it is the first day of a 23% price increase in the food and drink products (indirect tax), we expect new direct taxes within 2 months and the wages and pensions have been cut, even to those who recieve the lowest ones.
And with all these, the deficit is growning and the forecasts show no stabilizing for the future. How is this possible i really cant tell.

scratching

As for the collateral Finland asks from Greece imagine how it is, it is used with the banks and the companies but not with whole countries. So, we might find ourselves "sold" in Finland because of our debths. Maybe in the future this country will have the greek population living and working for foreign bosses who will rule the country politically and economically, I mean in clear daylight.

Less than 50%

There was more to come. As the end of August approached, just as the markets were beginning to calm down, another problem emerged. This time it was back to the politics of the 21 July agreement.
A bilateral deal was struck that would see Finland receive collateral from Greece in return for its participation in the bail-out. Despite this being expressly permitted in the conclusions of the summit (and indeed it was a deal-breaker for the Finns), it did not go down well with other governments, some of whom said that if Finland could get such an arrangement then so should they.
Moody's, a credit-rating agency, wearily warned that “if more and more of the rescuing countries end up making collateral demands, Greece will not be able to fully meet them, thus jeopardising the rescue plan”. Now it looks as if other member states will block the move anyway.
The summit on 21 July was supposed to be the beginning of the end of the crisis. Measures hitherto considered taboo because of political sensitivities were finally agreed upon and the mood was positive. But the events of the past six weeks have demonstrated that politicians have still not got a grip on this crisis. Analysts are still talking about the need to double or treble the size of the European Financial Stability Facility and urging the introduction of eurobonds just as they were before.
A lack of decisiveness, plain-speaking, courage and co-ordination immediately before and during the summer break has left the eurozone looking as vulnerable as ever.

In this crisis, Eurozone leaders’ motto seems to be “too little too late”.
They got it badly wrong the first weekend in May 2010.
Having announced that they had saved Greece, financial markets said “not good enough”. The next weekend they came up with a more substantial plan, but even this proved to be too little too late.
After months of living in denial, Eurozone leaders finally recognised that Greece was not going to be able to restart borrowing on its own. They came up with another plan. On 21 July 2011, they got it badly wrong again. Financial markets are again said “not good enough”.
On August 16 Chancellor Merkel and President Sarkozy held a widely-trumpeted “summit” to announce decisions that were either irrelevant or misguided. Stock markets around the world said “not gooOd enough”. Even more ominously, the interbank market is seizing up, as it did in 2007 on the way to the Lehman disaster.

I always thought this “shell game” the world is playing with would start here in the states but the more I learn the more I read I feel it will start in Europe. One of the things all most all analysis say is “ just one major disaster ..one major hic up” and boom down it goes.

Re: it will start in Europe
Everyone everywhere in all nations needs to start building their barter trading connections.

Here in the US many people have built trade connections.
It has to be done to keep the power out of the wrong hands.

I have eggs and chickens, am growing rice in Texas of all places, the rice isn't so much for eating since I only have limited space but is for selling seeds that will grow more rice to others.
Do what you can when you can and where you can.
If everyone did a little something we would not need the systems.

I can already trade the high protein diet value from the eggs to a few others that grow vegetables.

The only people that are going to stay a slave to their oppressors are the ones relying on their oppressors.
That is how oppressors gain power.

I am afraid I have to agree with you. I deal with a lot of American tourists and most of them do not have a clue about anything that is going on outside of the US............ and they really don't know what is going on at home either. They pick up little pieces here and there in the news, just enough to have a very warped and distorted view of what is going on.

Hell a couple years ago when the US was forcing the need for passports for Americans returning to the US from Canada, every Yank I talked too complained bitterly about the damned Canadian government forcing them to get a passport and to hell with them, they would never travel to Canada again. When I pointed out it was their government forcing the issue and that Canada was against it, they just glazed over and refused to believe it.

Sorry, your average US citizen just drinks the kool-aid. I have good, long time friends in the US and even they just shake their heads at the brain washed mentality.

Greece buys Gold: Reserves worth 3.7 billion

Greece has increased its Gold reserves in May - a total of nearly 3.6 million ounces. Multiple times it had been proposed that Greece should sell its Gold reserves in order to get the budget back under control. The opposite has happened - they buy even more!!! Nevertheless the next EU aid package is on track.

According to the IMF, the country has 111.46 tonnes of Gold. The value is currently about 3.7 billion Euros.

Furthermore, with this bilateral deal with Finland, a credit event might occur wich will trigger the CDSs, which will trigger the financial apocalypse...

"In fact the conditions for the credit event might have been in place as soon as Finland’s finance minister went around hooting about the collateral deal last week.

Presenting, then, the Obligation Default credit event.

Stock markets around the world said “not good enough”.
