humuhumunukuapuaa User ID: 1530909 United States 09/01/2011 12:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wonder what Gaddafi's plans are for revenge... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1165831 this is going to be a interesting sept I would think that this would entail a counter-insurgency. Gaddaffi did a much better job raising the standard of living for his people -- general populous -- than all our Presidents combined over the past 50 years. Gaddafi was faced with an armed rebellion back in February 2011, and although his government did stupidly and predictably shoot some unarmed protesters, the rest of the rebels were/are alciada trying to gain the upper hand on Russians and the Chinese, who were getting the better oil deals from Gaddaffi. Now even the armed rebels claim that 50,000 have died in Libya since the French/USA airstrikes began the war in March 2011. I have to believe, if Gaddaffi is serious, that he, like Saddam, told his people to blend back into the background, hide your guns, plant improvised explosive devices, aim at rebels, as Saddam once said, "shoot for the neck" -- I myself abhor violence, but if Gaddaffi is planning the long war, this is probably his plan. Like it or not, it worked in Iraq. Bush was forced to sign a status of forces agreement in 2007 (retreat contract) due to Sunni and Shiite insurgency tactics. Now, faced with a likely full retreat in December 2012 from Iraq, with another thug, Maliki (torturer) in office, the USA is knocking at Libya's door. However, the silver lining for Cheney, Bush and the oil boys is that oil prices went through the roof for a prolonged period of time, and they made record profits for several years. See #1 below. Here is something to keep in mind. 1. Even if this blows up to a full blown counter-insurgency war like Iraq did, it will keep the price of fuel high -- thus, justify the cost of transferring to an oil sands extraction supply from Canada, the USA and Venezuala. When the price is too low, (peacetime) the oil boys can't make enough profit from oil sand extraction. The amount of shale and oil sand fuel just in our hemisphere exceeds the amount of oil otherwise left in the ground, and would take us well past 2050. 2. A long war would also lower the standard of living in Libya, cause mass exodus, and lower the oil revenues shared with a less populated Libya. This is how our leaders and their masters think. Gaddaffi appears opposed to letting his country slide into Banana republic status. Last Edited by humuhumunukuapuaa on 09/01/2011 12:38 PM Through honesty, we make peace. |

Quoting: Vicious bitch Maybe Obama can just kill more Libyan children to keep the Muslims under control. Just like Obama has been doing in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan & Yemen for years now. . Do not forget Somolia. Obama is a war monger. He is also really hard on Africa. Remember, this keeps the price of oil artificially high and thus makes it profitable for the USA, Canada and Venezuela to extract oil from sand and shale deposits. These deposits exceed the amount of non-rock-bound crude oil left in the ground on our planet. Western Military and Oil contractors win from keeping oil artificially high. Sick. Through honesty, we make peace. |
