"Let there be a long fight and let Libya be engulfed in flames," Gaddafi was quoted as saying in a message.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1165831

What a douchebag.

He was in power for 40 years. Did he think to step down? Nooo... he was willing to start a civil war to stay in power.

Now that his butt was kicked he wants the struggle to be long and Libya to burn.

Oh what a hero, how much he loves Libya... LMAO.
 Quoting: Vlad Tepes
I agree. And even if he hadn't been a bloody tyrant,wouldn't the people be sick of him by now after all this time?

Those people need change. I hope their new parliament manages to give them a good change.

You mean Al-cia-da puppets.

Your oil sands in Canada must be doing well, what with all this middle east uncertainty, oil prices allow you to extract and make a decent profit.

Re: • Gadhafi: Let this be a long fight, and let Libya be on fire
...
Has everyone here forgotten how this whole mess got started? It started with a peaceful demonstration by opponents of Gaddafi. Then Gaddafi supporters started shooting at the peaceful demonstrators. From that point on, things started to get out of control and outside forces started coming in.

If the tyrant's followers hadn't started killing the peaceful demonstrators, he would still be in power now with a discontented populace. If he had talked to these people instead of shooting them, maybe something could have been worked out peacefully.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1057865

How do you know that they were peaceful. Overrunning a military base in Benghazi sounds like a little less than peaceful. That actually how this got started. Sounds like its a MI5 CIA Mossad operation.

Lets be clear, it this was organic, then it wouldnt had even made a peep in the news.

OIL GOLD WATER and creating a vicious Islamic Sharia state. That's what its all about.

Wealth and the best enemy money can buy. What a great victory for TPTB.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 759313

Yep! Benghazi was a CIA/Al Qaeda operation plain and simple. Recently leaked Libyan intelligence documents confirm it! Qaddafi was fighting against our "declared" but secretly allied enemy, Al Qaeda.
 Quoting: LoVeLiGHT420

One correction: Al-cia-da. USA created, manages and recruits for them.

Sounds like someone is considering a hydrogen bomb or something similar.
 Quoting: Idgits

The head of Libya's rebel movement said Monday that Col Moammar Gadhafi remained a serious threat to the country and to the world, as he warned that the deposed leader was capable of one final "awful" act before he was caught...

"Gadhafi is still capable is doing something awful in the last moments," Abdel Jalil said in Qatar, the tiny Gulf state that has poured millions of dollars, arms and equipment into rebel hands.

And they confuse one even more, because in reality, al-Awlaki is a CIA agent, who was allowed to come and go from the US even after he was marked a terrorist, and in fact a warrant was dropped by an US district attorney the day he flew out of Colorado to Yemen. Al-waliki had lunch at the Pentagon after 9/11, even though he was the Muslim leader and counseled the "alleged" hijackers for the 9/11 attack.

Al-Awlaki is being used in Yemen, the same way AlciaDa used Osama in Afghanistan to justify American attacks and ultimately control their resources.

In modern usage, the term "dictator" is generally used to describe a leader who holds and/or abuses an extraordinary amount of personal power, especially the power to make laws without effective restraint by a legislative assembly[citation needed]. Dictatorships are often characterized by some of the following traits:

suspension of elections and of civil liberties;
proclamation of a state of emergency;
rule by decree;
repression of political opponents without abiding by rule of law procedures;
these include single-party state, and cult of personality.[citation needed]

False democracy is just as bad, especially when the candidates work covertly for a primary interest other than the people.

Again, Gaddaffi did a better job raising the standard of living for his people than all the US presidents did for our country over the last 40 years.

I do not like our rigged democracy, and I do not like Gaddafi's dictatorship, but in reality, he did a better job for his people.

The defenders of democracy are as deluded as those in the government that promotes it. They fail to realize that America was founded on principals very diametrically opposed to democracy. America was a republic that was usurped by evil.

Re: • Gadhafi: Let this be a long fight, and let Libya be on fire
About 5000 pro-Gaddafi fighters in BaniWalid and 6000 in Sirte, says Al-Jazeera...

Funny how even after turning Sirte into a pile of smoldering rubble there is still this many making a stand.

Saif al Islam said there were about 20000 troops ready to fight.
