OP, I would do some research into the 2 species of cannabis plant: cannabis sativa and cannabis indica.

Each will get you 'high' generally speaking but the effects differ between the 2, especially if you are using cannabis as a mental health supplement.

Thoughts that didn't originate from "me", hence why i stopped smoking it. This is with the high power stuff, the light sativa smoke was always really nice and pleasant.

If its really quiet, I'll hear music. Kind of like when you realise in a dream, that your thoughts are building the world you see around you... it feels the same when I hear the music, like something within me is flowing it out. It's always so clear, too! Anyone else?

Also, I'll sometimes get a little paranoid and keep thinking I hear someone knocking at the door.

I stopped smoking regular weed almost a year ago, and now only use nugs. A bit more expensive, but WORTH IT.

if your thinking alot while your smoking its probably not the good stuff. weed gets you more in the now. high cbd levels make people paranoid, and high thc just gets you right. guaranteed if your thinking a lot while high you haven't been getting high for long in your life.

The 'regular' stuff is that which actually has some seeds and stems.

The 'regular weed' is likely a mishmash of sativa and indica, whereas the 'nugs' are likely a sativa or indica dominant strain that produces the desired effect. Please see leafly.com for more info on the difference between sativa and indica strains.

I hear ya bro, where I live many people won't buy it if it isn't 100% organic. Hydro nugs might be good enough for cash croppers selling to high school kids, but it's no way to produce real medicine.

Seeds & stems = Mexican, stress (street mundane)
Nugs = Chronic (mid/high-level street; outdoor/hydro)? or
Medical = High quality, pro-grown, some cannabis cup winners/honorables. Sativas, Indicas, hybrids, kief (one of my fav 'staples'- always guarantees a high).

Legal in LA here & prefer indicas for insomnia. I challenged myself long ago that if I can't drive 2 hrs. from college to home while high, I didn't deserve to smoke. It was important that I control it & chose the most challenging thing I was facing at the time. Maybe stupid, but I've never had an accident (besides some scary-but-protected shit in winter) & I definitely don't stop the thinking, no matter how outrageous. After all, what's in my mind hasn't materialized (yet)... Lots of creativity while at the right point in my high. After all, my thoughts wind down eventually with the 'comedown'(and then it's time to sleep!)

Well, here on the east coast, prices are crazy. You can easily sell medicinal-grade for $400/oz. and up, 1/8s tend to be in the $75-80 range.

'Reggie' (regular weed) is still around over here, with seeds/stems in it, for a much lower price. Not quite as bad as Mexican brick, I don't fuck with it but I imagine others do because of the financial aspect.

I am very particular about weed. I smoked quite a few that did nothing but make me feel out of control of my thoughts and did not relax me body or mind. I smoke very seldom for this reason. The weed I have currently makes me nice and calm. It also works as a viagra for women :D I know it's good stuff when I go from stressed to sweet, find myself laughing, and my kids will even come up to me and want to get in my lap lol. My cat also always knows when I'm high and he will come up to me and swipe my hand with his paw then run off. I don't function well in society if I'm high though. It's because any kind of stress puts me on a bad trip so I have to be home and everything in order.
