The U.S. came in at a shameful 40 out of 100 for the lowest in infant mortality!! We rank with a third world country!! If you have no insurance, you are screwed- which many people now do not have. This should get people angry, but it won't until they have to be a patient. Sad. |

US ranks #40 on infant deaths- on par with Croatia and others. | Factual Error User ID: 1533541 09/03/2011 03:05 PM ![]() Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I propose a tax of $0.01 on every 100 shares traded on any exchange. It would cut down on speculation, and allow the markets to focus on investment. A penny tax on every email would eliminate spam, and probably balance the federal budget, too. Not intended to be a factual statement. |

Quoting: Factual Error A penny tax on every email would eliminate spam, and probably balance the federal budget, too. a tax of $0.01 on every 100 shares traded on any exchange would destroy investment in small and micro cap stocks, thousands of which trade UNDER .01, and put many, if not all small publicly held start up companies out of business. A tax of .01 on a $100/share stock and tax of .01 on a .001/share stock are two totally different things. tax and spend, tax and spend, tax and spend...... |

I assume they mean ALL publicly traded companies regardless of what they may or may not be paying now. Would this also apply to the nurses union which is a corp? It may be listed as a "non-profit" yet has millions available to pay for their lobby and campaign funds to their friendly polticans. The BS is getting to thick to let it pass. Washington CD has a spending problem NOT a revenue problem. Give DC ALL "Wall ST's" money...they will go thru it in 6 months and be looking for more....but go on believing it's Wall St's fault for whatever wrong you believe has occured and get the govt. to beat up the bad guys...yea that'll show em...and next month we can go after some "NEW" reason why DC needs another 2 billion line of credit...this time I bet it's all the obscene bonus's nurses get "just" for agreeing to work !!!!!! OBSCENE !! |

The administration gets the bonuses... the nurses get short staffed. The pt gets lucky to get a good nurse- |
| Anonymous Coward User ID: 1222180 09/03/2011 05:40 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Nobody's happy about Wall Street bonuses, but nurses are greedy bastards who often are paid $ 50.00 an hour, and $ 75.00 an hour for overtime. THAT is part of the reason for high health care costs. Plus they go on fukking STRIKE sometimes, which should be ILLEGAL for someone in the health care field. |
