Our society is too focused on people's weight and appearance. If we focused more on being decent and kind instead of hateful and shallow this world would be a much better place. Because you 'should' be descriminated against for being obese! And I am tired of society thinking ohh its fine to obese, its the new normal now! Part of the reason healthcare is so expensive in the USA , is because we have such a huge population of lardasses. Obesity = unhealthy! Ohh gee who woulda thought?! And guess who pays for your lardasses healthcare? yeah, its everyone, including those of us who "actually give a shit about our health!", and we eat a balanced diet and exercise. I am so sick of you tubs of lard, everywhere I got I see obese fat cows, like they are fattening up to go get butchared or something. Thank god its the first good thing I have heard of the government doing in a long time! You are right, I have an issue, I am 31 and since a I was a child I have been seeing this country get steadily fatter and fatter every year, and people ignore the issue and pretend that its normal to be 300 pounds. I remember being overseas for about 5 years in asia and south America, and then coming back about 2 years ago. I almost forgot how goddamn fat people were here. I remember getting on a plane full of Americans after not seeing any for a long time, and thinking my God you people can't even fit in the seats! Seriously I am embarrassed. Do you know what the rest of the world knows of americans? that we are fatasses, way to help our image around the world, and frankly it is the truth. |

As far as there being no such thing as a hormone or thyroid disorder, they develop one when the start to overeat. You could say it starts from a psychological problem. Well you can't just order mentally ill people to stop or get better. They need help and support. Some people are happy being fat, seriously. They feel stronger and bigger than everyone else. I remember bullies being fat. It is their choice more or less. Just the same way some people who are thin may eat horrible diets of no produce and tons of sugar and lose all their teeth and be hyper and mean. That is bad also. That is still their choice, folly as it is. There is also the issue of brain damage causing obesity. A lot of the foods that people eat and the drugs they take, are disruptive to neurotransmitters. As a result, they have a harder time knowing when to stop eating or lose the urge to stop. |

The rest of my family is either semi obese or obese and I am not surprised. I see what they eat when we are together. Every night for them its some kind of dinner with red meat, and then desert afterwards. The seem to be constantly "hungry" missing a meal for them would be something akin to starving to death. Being obese and overeating is so far from the norm, so unnatural from the way we were designed to eat. I love all the excuses from fat people about genes and such. Show me one example in nature of obese animals? Other than domesticated animals it does not happen. When I go to asia or other countries I don't see obese people everywhere. Why don't they have genetic problems or thyroid problems like the obese lazy pigs here? Cuz they don't exist! Maybe one person in 100,000 has a problem like that, but yet it seems every fat person in the USA, which is like half the population now, uses that same excuse. Because most thyriod problems are caused by the medicines that we take, poeple in those countries take less medications. Wild animals take none. The reasons it runs in families is cause only certain genes are susceptible to these medicines. |

You would have to consume huge amounts of food to get that big, and I don't think most people with seven kids are that wealthy. They want the three little ones in the picture and a baby. How can a baby be fat when they have baby fat anyway? The baby is only one year old. The older girls look more dangerously fat, yet they don't seem to want to take them. Maybe they just want the cute lttle ones to adopt out somewheere, and get some nice kickbacks. |

I don't see what a possibility or lack of contact would change to the eating behavior of children if they are taken upon custody for their health. And what is neotame? I have never heard of those things. If radiation makes you fat, then I guess TVs, radios, computers and phones would do the same. They do say that kids who watch a lot of TV tend to be fatter. I also suppose they get out in the sun less and get less vitamin D. In the end I still think it is primarily a psychological probelem though. |

I said flat out to their face it was child abuse what has happened to their child and they better do something before the child becomes gravely ill. They said it was "genetic" and nothing they could do. Well I know this kid and my kid told me what she eats. She eats for lunch: can of coke, 2 bags of cookies, a bar of chocolate, 2 white bread and processed meat sandwiches, gummy candies. And that's just lunch. Anyway, I said to this parent, "I can assure you it's not genetic. If you drop your child off at a Somalian refugee camp for 2yrs you think they will be that massive when you pick them up? HELL NO."
