He has also stated many times that social security is "unconstitutional". Interestingly, the way he wants to phase it out is by offering an opt-out plan for younger workers, Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1534637 an oxy-moron statement from RP. Social Security is illegal by constitution. But he'll still keep it for some. What part of illegal did he not understand ??? It is illegal for the young, but NOT for the old. The Supreme Court would laugh him out of the court room. If he keeps it for some, then he is not for the constitution as he claims to be. You cannot pick and choose which parts of the constitution you want to adhere to depending on age. This makes him a flip-flopper. |

Yep, that ought to bring out the voters. Social Security is illegal under the constitution, therefore RP says we don't need it. That also includes food stamps, welfare, disability, medicare and medicaid. the only class of people this will NOT hurt ..... is the elites !!! But of course RP is an elite himself. His net worth is over $5 Million which puts him in that top 2% category. with $5M in assets he doesn't need SS or Medicare to retire on. So it won't affect him none at all. Listen idiot. Stop supporting murderers and fucked up wars. |

Actually, Ron Paul has stated several times that the U.S. Constitution is more or less disposable. Have a look at this video, at 4:05" 4.05 - "What do you say to people who advocate for self government, rather than a return to the Constitution?" Ron Paul: "Great. Fine. That is really what my goal is." [link to youtu.be] |

Pfffttt 5M is peanuts, he's just well off, comfortable. A million was a lot when an ounce of Gold was $20 Whats an ounce today? $1800 and rising? Elite are the top 1/10 of 1% When He gets to 5B post it again. Frater PS There isn't going to be any social services soon as we go bankrupt. The man is right, restoration of constitutional gov't is the way. Abolishing the Federal Reserve, Sound Money and bringing all troops home from war far trumps any other arguments anyway. LVX! |

I wonder why the CIA didn't took care of him? Either it doesn't matter if he did become the president or that day will never come. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 957079 I don't have a problem with RP, but to many BHO was too good (to us--not me as I have no party ties to him--to be true)...my suspicions are up, sorry RP. I am cautiously optimistic when necessary...the cynic in us all (intelligent ppl, I mean) does need to prevail should we happen upon he chance to break the cycle we're slaves to. Yes let us all be destined to looking for failure. The "intelligent" you say. Well what's intelligent about that? Idiot. |

That won't bring the SOCIALISTS to the voting polls for him. I don't agree with that. Most people want to relive the dream that is old america, and RP offers a direction towards the realization of that dream. You take from that interview - no entitlement programs - and I take - fix the whole system and we wont need the entitlement programs. |

THE REAL ISSUES... not a thousand points of trivia! Ron Paul wants to get the governmental bureaucrats OFF OF OUR BACKS and OUT OF OUR WALLETS! If we weren't shackled with the ENORMOUS payroll deduction taxes of Medicare and Social Security, we would have LOADS OF EXTRA MONEY to save, invest, donate to charities, and support our friends and family. What has gone wrong here is that our hard-earned money is being SQUANDERED through corruption, waste, and outright stupidity. Ron Paul will send the "special interests" lobbyists packing... and Ron Paul will put AMERICA... and AMERICANS...... FIRST! |

Big money is in control of our government to maintain status quo and big profits. They own media. They own politicians. No one man will ever make a difference. To a great degree, this has been proven with Obama. Paul would make for a refreshing change, and thanks to Capitol Hill clusterfuck, would be able to do nothing. |
