WTF!!!!Bank of America 'called grieving widow 48 times a day to remind her of husband's debt'
catwtf

this is a sorry example of what bank of america does to people. this woman's husband died of cancer and she was then bombarded with calls, even during her husband's wake.

total bullshit and nastiness on the part of BOA. computer generated my ass.

******************************************************

'Bank of America bombarded a grieving widow with calls up to 48 times a day to remind her that her recently deceased husband had missed a mortgage payment, it is claimed.

Deborah Crabtree, from Honolulu, Hawaii, is suing the bank after she said she was called by debt collectors as often as every 15 minutes including during the wake for her husband.

According to papers filed in Hawaii, Mrs Crabtree told the bank that she would pay the debt as soon as she received her husband's life insurance pay out, but the bank continued to threaten to foreclose on her home.'

I sympathized with this person. All she has to do is to send her husband's death certificate.

It happened to me once when I was in MA. After my mom passed away, her doctor office sent me her bill. I informed them that she passed away by sending them her death certificate. After that, their collection agency sent me her bill and i forwarded them my mom death certificate.

When her doctor office called me, i told them to look up her computer and they should know that she passed away in their freaking hospital.

I was so pissed that i told them that they needed to go to hell to collect the money because my mom wasn't alive.

Humanity was shitty.

more threats to people from BOA

Bank of America Threatens Foreclosure On Elderly Couple Who Paid Mortgage Early

Late last year, the Florida couple, Sharon Bullington, 70, and her 78-year-old terminally ill husband, were forced, due to mounting health care bills, to apply for mortgage relief under the federal Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP). After receiving approval for the application, Sharon sent in her first check (for January's rent) for the adjusted amount on December 23, 2010.

This, apparently, set off Bank of America's powers-that-be.

Official HAMP guidelines dictate that the Bullingtons should have technically made their first adjusted payment on January 1, 2011, and, "by not making January's payment on January 1st, the Bullingtons had failed to comply with HAMP's terms."

i'm so sorry for your loss and for the treatment you and your family received after her death.

i don't think this family even had time to get the death certificate to send them.

i understand repayment of debt, but they should have given them at least a week to send in the certificate.

boa is among the worst of the banks on calling and harrassing people.

She needs to change her phone number so that boa won't bother her.

She can call ATT or Verizon or whoever her phone company is and tell them that she wants a new phone number because she is tired of all advertisement and commercial BS calls during her dinner.

They will do it for her in a heart beat because it requires by laws.

I know T-MOBILE allow you to have a new number after issuing you a number for 6 months.

Here is another way to deal bill collectors.

When they send you a bill, don't open it. Mail it back with a sentence " this person doesn't live here" or "wrong address' on an envelope.

My friend in CA did it and it worked. He did it 4 times before they stopped sending.

Furthermore, he also didn't pick up the phone when it rang. He answered the phone if he heard your voice on his answering machine.

sending the mail back is very smart. really good advise.

Sometimes they don't even have the right person. We got harassed by a bill collector trying to collect on a credit card they said my husband owed. He has never had a credit card in his name, ever. After going around and around with this nasty person I told them they had to send me proof of the debt. They were checking the address they had on file... it was someone with the same name (spelled differently) who lived at a different address in town. I let loose on the motherfucker and took all of my frustration for the week out on his unlucky ass. No more calls.
