THE ALL NEW GLP POEM THREAD
I know it's no masterpiece but sometimes poems just pop in my head so I wrote it down for all to see.

I’ve searched for truth
Through troubled youth
For centuries it seems
I’ve faced closed doors
And crawled on floors
In a nightmarish bad dream
No ray of light
In the darkest night
Ever shone my way
I came here to see
To the great GLP
Now Karma gives me my say.

I have 5 GOOD Karma points to give away today for any additions.

Haiku of the Youthful Search

Sifting through past thoughts
little fingers clutching sand
finding grains of truth.

Wrote this many years ago -- hope it still applies.

Re: THE ALL NEW GLP POEM THREAD
Who Am I....

If a man be judged by his Family, then I
am a blessed man.
If a man be judged by his friends then I
am a good man.
If a man be judged by his actions, then I
have been a foolish man; if judged by his
strengths then I am a good hearted man.
If a man be judged by pride then I am a
crippled man.
But if a man be judged by God...then He
will decide what kind of man I am.

Weed is a seed

If god didn't want it
It wouldn't be around
So for all you mother Fuckers
Who don't get high
Go buy a bag and give it a try

Re: THE ALL NEW GLP POEM THREAD
William Butler Yeats (1865-1939)
THE SECOND COMING

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: a waste of desert sand;
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Wind shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

I finished it for you...
Say it with a Frank Spenser type voice.

All the good poems are already written
Frank Spenser says he's got a kitten
He though he saw it behind the door
But it was just whoopsie on the floor.

Re: THE ALL NEW GLP POEM THREAD
One I wrote a few years ago.
I am interested how many of you see this as OPTIMISTIC or PSSIMISTIC?

Tomorrow
If another day, were like today
I’d wish for no tomorrow
But yesterday, unlike today
Was full of joy not sorrow
Another day, like yesterday
I would like to borrow
But, come what may, Just like today
There will be a tomorrow

NOVEMBER COMES

when the children of summer,

are all dead , or asleep.....

and the water in the quarries ;

lies cold, still, and deep...

lest the stag fall bloody,

to the hunters gun....

you must run like the wind,

buck.....

run dammit! run!
