I just wanna beat someone right now lol son of a bitch. Is this normal when quitting? How long does it last?

Drink LOTS of water and try to do some physical activities that make you sweat profusely. The more you sweat the more of the nicotine you get out of your system. Once the majority of the nicotine is out of your system, the cravings, withdrawal symptoms, and overall bad mood will vanish.

Best of luck to you! I'm on my 4th time "quitting" but I just can't seem to do it yet. Then again it's probably because I'm being pushed to quit instead of the decision coming purely from me heh.

Perfectly normal.

Don't worry. It only takes about 3 years to lose the craving.

i think you're still wanting to beat the fuck out of someone because 'stress triggers', such as the callous disregard exhibited towards your situation, as so glibly displayed above.

Just because someone is deserving of a beatdown does not suggest that you have anger issues.

think about it. chicken or egg

give it 2 more months..your blood pressure rises, so you can sweat, and burn fat that has nicotine stored along with stem cells...your body is naturally trying to fullfill your cravings...get some hard candy at walmarts and make sure its the non-sugar candy..or your teeth will become sensitive and rot out...this will help, somewhat...keep fighting...you dont want your fingers, breathe and clothes to smell like smoke again...so keep fighting...

I haven't smoked in over 15 years, but it took me three attempts, over about 5 years, to finally quit.

And I only managed to quit because I used chemical and herbal help. Tablets that alkalized my body and suppressed the desire for Nick O'Teen.

Good luck man... but the cravings last about 30 days.

You've made a hell of a dent though.

nicotine is a mood stabilizer.

your brain is gonna have to regulate without it now. that takes a while.

It's a tough one to do. I hated everyone and everything for about two weeks when I quit. Good luck. I ate black licorice, for some reason that helped.

I got really angry when I quit smoking. EVERYTHING was suddenly so frustrating. It goes away though. I haven't had a cigarette in almost 4 years :)

Re: Seventh day of not smoking, why am I still angry?
Yeah id say your are most definitely past the worst part. I would suggest staying away from here until you feel its under control though. Much better chance running into ass clowns that'll piss you off here than in real world. In fact 100% within the first two minutes...1dunno11dunno1dance

- also take a few deep breaths and hold last one as long as you can, or at least 20-30 seconds when cravings come...That helped out greatly for me. Seem to remember slight cravings popping up out of nowhere for the first 6-8 months. not often but just out of the blue, easy to control though...unless you drinkdrinks

good luckhf

Re: Seventh day of not smoking, why am I still angry?
It takes about 9 days for the nicotine receptors in your brain matter to release the last of the nicotine.

Hang in there! Your almost there! In 48-72 hours you'll feel much better.

Until then, I will tell you what I did to help through it.

You know those long freezer kiddie pops that you buy in boxes of like 50-100 that you stick in the fridge.
It takes about the same time to eat one of those as it does to smoke a coffin nail.
In the meantime you get a sweet reward and it is something to do with your hand and mouth.
Try something like that.
By the time I finished a whole box I no longer smoked. :)

Seventh day?

1rof1

Try two or three years down the line, clean.

It's very hard, giving up smoking.
Probably harder than losing a heroin habit.

It took me 5 years, and 3 attempts, to kick.

So don't beat yourself up if you lapse, for a year or two.

First step is to realize that your NOT a quitter.

Next step is to realize that you are a non smoker. You just simply don't smoke. (That shit is Nasty!!)

People that smoke are stupid and lazy.

Stupid because they Know it Killing them and lazy because they don't make the effort.

The best way to stop smoking is to give your life to Jesus Christ. I use to smoke pot and drink wine and beer 2 to 3 times a week. And when I gave my life to Jesus Christ; I no longer had those bad habits. But the smoking and ash demon is in you and it is requiring you to smoke. And those demons in you are very annoyed because they can't smell that smoke. Plus; your body has developed a deep craving for nicotine and thats why you are so angry and irritated.

Are you keeping your neurons happy with other stimulants?

Cold turkey is a bitch.

Caffeine.

Electronic cigarettes.

Something to keep you from crashing, getting irritable and depressed.

I would never recommend cold turkey.
