If you picture a shoulder, a head, and another shoulder you have a shape of an upside down U (head) and two straight lines coming off the area where shoulders would be. If the market graph goes below the second shoulder (first shoulder, up the head and neck and back down) and than below that shoulder, that would be what hes talking about.

It could be in numerical terms dow 5000 riding up to 12000 than back down below 5000.

He has another thread going now, his great neice was badly injured by a car and is in a coma. He has been on that thread.

I'm what someone would call a chartist, and someone who bases my investing ideas on technical analysis (Reading chart patterns, and indicators)

To make a long story short, a head and shoulders pattern is a very reliable warning to a downturn in the markets once the price breaks below the neckline by the right shoulder.

These patterns are seen on yearly, weekly, and even on monthly charts, but when you see one of these patterns forming over many, many years, it is very frightening because you can see what very few people can see. That we are in very big trouble!

If that right shoulder breaks below the neckline, (which I believe it will) this time it will make the 1929 stockmarket crash look tiny in comparison.

The end of the great economic boom is over! Batten down the hatches!

Oh yeah... cash out on your 401k now! A small loss now is better then a complete loss later!

NOTE: That break below the neckline will be around 7,000.

Hey OP, Robert Prechter also called for an economic collapse based on charts he had developed. It is in the cards for sure. No reason for the stock market to be even where it is. Is it all a sign of inflation??? I think it is being pumped up by intervening market forces of an unknown origin, lol.

I trade and had over 100k of my savings not counting my 401k when the market crashed this year. Since then I've taken most of it out...

However this current rally I thnk is ridiculous and based on nothing but retail buyers buying on hope only

This head and shoulders formation won't cure a thing. Your wealth will be gone within a day or two, and there won't be a thing you can do about it once it starts!

Im 43yrs old, i cant cash out my 401k. What should I do with it. Im with Vanguard of that makes any diff to ya. I could really use some advice if I need to move funds to a bond or something

Thats where most of mine are. I have 49% in an international fund and 10% in company stock (electric utility I work for) and the rest in some other crap i cant remember

I just looked and 88% are stocks and the rest mut funds

I had a money market fund, and was collecting $700+ in interest monthly. When the rates dropped, it went down to just over $50 monthly.

I began to cash out slowly taking less then 10k each withdrawal. No questions asked that way.

If you notice on ^this one, the chart maxes at 390, while the current one maxes at 16,000... just to point out the "growth"

It could be, but you are blinded by what wall street wants you to believe. That is stocks set the tone for the economy.

That is an outright lie, stocks have always been a mechanism to establish prices and build equity nothing else. The macro conditions of the economy set the performance of stocks. It may take years for stocks to finally get it, but eventually it happens as market forces are too big for any individual, group or government to control.

Saying that a market crash will cause a great depression is putting the ox before the cart, the economy determines stock values not the other way around.

When might this happen? Is there a window you're looking at?
