I am here in SoCal as well...same thing. I think nothing will happen today...news media seems to be working to hard to scare us.
but I have been sleepless for a week now...something is not right

I agree something isn't right.

Ex husband is ex military and would have told me if he had seen anything odd down there, especially related to the rumors of chinese military tanks and such.

I don't watch news. Gave it up a year ago. The only station on the t.v. in my house is cartoons or a dvd playing for my kids. I get most of my news online. There is so much drama and they do use fear mongering. When Fukushima happened I was glued to the t.v. and news, literally and after 4 days I decided to quit watching it. It was the same thing over and over again. News reporters don't *report* the way they use too. Everyone is controlled and limited in what they can divulge.

I have felt something off for awhile now, probably a couple weeks. I'm a Christian and think that regardless to what is going on with Elenin/Planet X whatever you want to call it, something prophetic is going on. It seems to me that prophecy is speeding up. This month is Rosh Hashanah, the Feast of Trumpets and it coincides with Elenin's alignment with the Earth. Not going to speculate on what *could* happen, just find it interesting that this is all happening this month and there is such a feeling of uneasiness. Strange thing is though that i'm at peace with whatever happens. I'm not stressed out anymore over doom close to home. That is something new though.

Wonderful to meet another mother who sounds like me! Also a believer who keeps the channel on hgtv and only gets her news from online. Home school my boys....they are amazing. We have all felt off all week and have spent much time in prayer!

I bless my kids with oil each night :) And have worked hard to raise my kids in the faith. My son often tells me, "Mommy, I love you so much, but not as much as I love Jesus because He should always come first". So precious <3

I don't home school my kids....yet. They go to a private Quaker based school with a low teacher/student ratio that has been awesome. When the vaccines become mandatory i'll homeschool. For now it just works out fabulously where they are, they love it. So glad you are able to HS your kids. I am totally pro homeschool, it just didn't work out for me to be able to do it as a divorced mom raising my kids alone. If and when the time comes though it will happen.

How old are your kids?

Nice! I'm a nurse, LOL ;) I always wanted to be a Doctor when I grew up but don't care for school. I was a 3.0 student but just not driven to commit so many years of my life. I use to work at UCI though in the ER with a lot of residents and loved, LOVED working in a teaching hospital. Such an awesome experience! What year are you and what specialty?

How wonderful that there is a school like that is so cal! My boys are 15 and 13. I am proud to say that they are not your 'typical' teens! They love and support each other and both love Jesus. I feel the same about vaccines lately. I filed my own affidavit this year for both boys so we don't have to cross that road. Scary that they are requiring more vaccines than ever now!

Music is always a plus on late nights without sleep. The night sky is so much nicer with those vibrations in your ears. ;] What do you listen to?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1535612

Well, I listen to all sorts of stuff. I have over 3,000 songs on my compy and Ipod. LOL. Ranging from Frank Sinatra to Aerosmith to Harry Connick Jr. to Disurbed to ambient trance music to opera and country, along with everything in between including Christian music. Pretty varied taste <3
 Quoting: TrixieMama

I think most of us have a pretty varied taste ;]. But anything in particular you going to put on? If i had a suggestion it would be the Smiths. For some reason their sound goes fantastic with the night.
 Quoting: Az 1535612

Good suggestion. I love the Smiths, that whole era actually! I was a total Cure and Smiths lover back in the day, still am I guess, LOL. Any particular song you think?
 Quoting: TrixieMama

Yeah, the era and sound is one of my favorites even though I've only recently got into alt rock. I'd say listen to "Reel Around the Fountain", "Last Night I Dreamt That Some", and "What Difference Does It Make". All wonderful songs, but you really can't go wrong with anything Smiths. Morrissey's voice is wonderful.

I'd also suggest some Queens of the Stone Age if you're feeling a bit more energetic. ;D

Yes, we are very blessed to have found their school. There is a 3-4 year wait list for enrollment in all classes prek-8! So it's very highly sought after. IMO it is the next best thing to home schooling. Usually 4 teachers for 20 kids, not a bad ratio at all and the kids are very happy so it's worth it.

That is awesome that your boys still do well being home schooled as teenagers! Kudos to you mama for being able to do it!

Raising kids is so hard. Making the right decisions when it comes to their little lives is even harder. The whole vaccine thing is so overwhelming on so many levels. But, you just have to put your faith in God and pray over the decisions. I vaccinated my son with his first shots, I was uninformed and even though I was a nurse I was totally pro allopathic medicine at that time and i'm sorry to say I didn't realize who dangerous they could be or the negative impact they could have on his health. He has had problems as a result but I know that everything that happens is part of God's plan for us.

So glad to hear you are raising your children to love Jesus! You are doing AWESOME! hf

Just was so full of soul no matter if it was hardcore, poppy or alternative. I kind of wish i could have been a teen in the 80's (was born in the mid 80's). Hell any era before mine would have been nice. Especially the 30's and 40's for the jazz. Glad i could help you revive some old memories <3. Hopefully it took your mind off some of the pain.

Ok, once again it's another sleepless night for me. Insomnia has a hold of me, LOL. Took my pain meds now i'm just waiting for them to kick in so I can hopefully go to sleep.

Stop by to say hello or stay for awhile if you wanna talk :)

Either way I hope you have a blessed night hf

Personally I think my Lyme Disease is responsible but it's hard to say for certain.

Here's to hoping you can get some rest soon

OMG, so would have loved to have been from the 40's! Did a pin up photo shoot that was totally Betty Page but some of the pics were total 40's pin up. And love the music. Come up a decade and swing, yeah, I love music I guess, LOL.

My sister was born in 83, 10 years between us. She doesn't remember much about the 80's. They were a lot of fun.. I remember floI_AM_AN_ILLITERATE_RACIST39;s, flourescent colored clothes, black clothes with black boots, cutting my hair about 1 inch in the back to spike it out and a few inches longer in the front for a pompodore, omg and who could forget the cut off sweatshirts that hung off the shoulder with the lace gloves, lace socks and little 1 inch white Madonna pump boots? And of course over sized belts :) You would have LOVED being older in the 80's but you know what, we are born when it is our time so you were born at just he right time. The 90's were good years too. Albeit not as good as the 80's but I remember the 90's quite well too!

Do you ever hear an old song on the radio from your childhood/teen years and you instantly get taken back to the moment you first heard it? It's like a flashback. When that happens I can remember exactly where I was or what I was doing when certain songs come on. Interesting how that works.

Good memories and yes, it was the perfect medicine to get my mind off the pain. My new pain pill doesn't do much but you certainly took my mind off it and i'm quite relaxed now as a result, so thank you my friend! I wish you were a member so I could give you a karma hug hf

OMG honey, I am so sorry for your loss! I have tears right now and am praying for you as I type! God bless you honey, oh my heart just aches for you.

Oh honey, I wish I could hug you right now grouphug

Be careful drinking especially since you aren't normally a drinker! Don't worry about me with the pain pills hun, I don't have an addictive personality and only take them when I have too. In 2007 I almost died and had to have major painful surgery, 3 days after the operation PT came to get me up and tried to medicate me with major narcotics, I refused and stopped cold turkey. I am not one to take medicine unless I need too. I am also very much into naturopathic/homeopathic remedies. I use peppermint oil a lot to relax which helps with the pain <3

I don't know who JH is but I will pray that God will bring you both together my dear. Your past life story sounds very interesting. How did you come to find out about it?

I love you too honey, thank you for loving us and wanting us all to be happy. I wish I could take away your pain right now and offer you more than a virtual hug and prayers.

God bless you my friend hf

Re: Wide awake, can't sleep.

Just wanted to let you know that you're not alone I too have insomnia and have had it for many years.

Personally I think my Lyme Disease is responsible but it's hard to say for certain.

Here's to hoping you can get some rest soon

Oh no, so sorry to hear about that! I am sorry to say you are probably right, it is related to the LD. LD is horrible and causes so many problems down the road. I'm sorry you had to go through that and i'm super sorry you deal with insomnia too!

It's nice to know i'm not alone but it's not something I like to find out other people have too. Mine is pretty much stress and pain related. Some days are better than others.

I hope you can get some rest too my dear! Do you have any tricks that help?

I hear ya. Unfortunately mine has to do with a work injury to my back. The pain doesn't let me sleep

Same here except now the pain is also in my ribs. I can't sleep at night because it feels like my ribs are going to break if I lay on my side. It's even worse if I breath in real deep or sneeze.

Feeling like you can't breath is a horrible experience. When I have my fusion I know it will be awful, they will cut me on the front and back so it will be double pain and I know it will hurt to breath, cough and lay down. *sigh*.

I'd also suggest some Queens of the Stone Age if you're feeling a bit more energetic. ;D

Thank you my friend :) It's nice to meet someone here who is passionate about music. I was a teenager in the 80's and loved every minute of that era. The music was out of this world and there has really not been much that has come close in the years since. It was such a fun, energetic time. Wow, my mind is flooding with happy memories <3

You are quite welcome ;]. I love music and everything that the creativity represents. Especially from the mid 90's and before.

I think i would have loved being old in any time just so i could have first hand perception of it. Though I'm not complaining about the time i was born. Plenty of work to be done here (spiritually speaking).

And yes, the second time i heard The Doors - Light My Fire. Was only 4 when i first heard it but that song was imprinted into my being. Needless to say when i got older and heard it again it brought me back to trips with my mom. Was quite lovely, and then i found out that it was the radio edit. The instrumental just rocked my world. ;]

You are quite welcome <3. But i couldn't sign up to the site as i hate being a member of the group. I'd much rather be the light in the shadows ;]. The karma hug was felt regardless, friend.

You have an old soul and a good heart! Two qualities that are blessings! Old souls are wonderful because they can experience life with enjoyment and love and less worry/drama (if that makes sense). People who possess both qualities are few and far between.

I am an old soul. I love everything old. I love sitting with my grandma who is 83 and listening to her tell me stories about growing up in the depression, working on the farm and all the family history. I am drawn to it, and many other era's.

I believe you are right, there is much work to be done here. Are you a lightworker? Or what is your belief system if you don't mind my asking. It's ok if you don't want to share <3

Age differences are merely numbers that really don't mean much in the scheme of things IMO. I have many close friends who are in the 50's and on up. When you have a good heart and an old soul you make friends easily out of your age bracket, it's almost like you are drawn to them. Interesting how that works but it seems to have played true many times in my life.

I am happy to call you my friend and am glad that you felt that karma hug even though I couldn't deliver a green thumbs up to you ;) I would upgrade our membership for you if I have enough karma but you don't have an offer upgrade. The back pain is due to an injury when I was a teenager working at Great America. The ribs are due to osteoporosis. Afterr dealing with this for over 10 years my insomnia, bone pain, as well as chronic fatigue just recently have been diagnosed as hyperparathyroidism. A 20 minute procedure to remove one of my parathyroid glands should cure everything except for the back pain.

Well thank you for noticing, friend. This world is so full of peril, hatred and negativity that i try to give back as much positivity as i can. People forget how fragile the human psyche is. You and I are quite similar. History feels like it is home to me.

I wouldn't consider myself a light worker per say, but i suppose if that is the label that best fits. I've recently started reading up on the subject and find that i am quite agreeable with it. I also dabble in Taoism but it seems to be aligned with the light worker idea also. I just believe that people in this world need help and I am here to give that whenever i can even if it means sacrificing my own. Tis a lonely road occasionally, but you just have to keep focused on the bigger picture, because it really is beautiful.

Agreed, while I don't consider myself to have many friends in the classical sense I'm also drawn to the essence or soul if you will so age rarely plays a part in it. Plus confining yourself to one age bracket means you don't learn from those who've grown in a different perception. Gaining as much knowledge about the human condition from all angles is really quite important.

Ah, well I wouldn't want you to give me anything that another may want more. Though i would graciously accept it if you offered as it's a sign of the connection we've made. One that i appreciate more than you know. This site is regularly about doom so it is nice to see somebody who is more centered than most. But I don't think you can say you don't know me ;]. Plus i go by Az when i can remember that i need to type in a name lol.

I am very happy to call you friend. <3.
