......subconscious revolting against your "entrapment", with a conscious (non-dream) denial attempt to keep up with the "order" (life, family, reputation). The little girl in the dream then was yourself, your maturing into sexuality that which led you into the "control" over your life thence forward. You are revolted by this, you see your husband in a reality you are unwilling consciously to address, you even see him as "a strange man". Our subconscious minds know the whole truth, but we bury it, put it in denial, and it comes out in dreams. Your mother is part of the "order", that which led you along the path of your life, into adulthood / sexuality / and the "trap". To put this in perspective you said at the end of the dream:
"The entire time I am aware that this is a world, this is not a dream, and this is me and my life. At the end of the dream I look in the mirror and see myself. I am not identical to how I really look but I am close enough. My hair is blonde and I am a bit leaner but I am me nonetheless."
Yes, this is the world you hold in denial, you even look into a mirror and see yourself.
You will slowly incorporate this into your conscious thoughts, and will begin to see things more clearly that you have been restraining...........
