At the end of the dream I look in the mirror and see myself. I am not identical to how I really look but I am close enough. My hair is blonde and I am a bit leaner but I am me nonetheless." Yes, this is the world you hold in denial, you even look into a mirror and see yourself. You will slowly incorporate this into your conscious thoughts, and will begin to see things more clearly that you have been restraining........... best I can do !! AKA Auntie Arnie |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1515928 United States 09/11/2011 01:16 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes. Dreams are a window into alternate realities. They can also be messages from the larger part of you to the you that is here. You recognized the role the people were playing before you recognized their features. This says to me that you recognized them on a soul basis and not a physical basis. They are all a part of your group on the other side and you guys all interact through many realities. Sometimes you find this in real life through instant attraction or just feeling like you know someone from somewhere. I am guessing that the kid you are planning to adopt has sent you a message to hurry up and find her. She feels like she needs someone to protect her. You will know her role on sight, just like you knew the roles of the others in the dream. |

I felt so much love for the little girl. Perhaps you are right and perhaps I should get looking. We weren't planning on adopting for a few years. |
Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1544988 Canada 09/11/2011 01:53 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | ......subconscious revolting against your "entrapment", with a conscious (non-dream) denial attempt to keep up with the "order" (life, family, reputation). The little girl in the dream then was yourself, your maturing into sexuality that which led you into the "control" over your life thence forward. You are revolted by this, you see your husband in a reality you are unwilling consciously to address, you even see him as "a strange man". Our subconscious minds know the whole truth, but we bury it, put it in denial, and it comes out in dreams. Your mother is part of the "order", that which led you along the path of your life, into adulthood / sexuality / and the "trap". To put this in perspective you said at the end of the dream: Quoting: Arnie "The entire time I am aware that this is a world, this is not a dream, and this is me and my life. At the end of the dream I look in the mirror and see myself. I am not identical to how I really look but I am close enough. My hair is blonde and I am a bit leaner but I am me nonetheless." I am fairly good at decoding dreams and figuring out what the secret meanings are. I appreciate your time you took in that response :) However this time I really feel as if I may have slipped into an alternate reality. I can't shake that feeling. It's hard to describe but it was like no dream I have had before. Also, when I realized he was my husband, a good part of the revolt was because I was thinking about my real husband. I love him very much and I was thinking of him at the time. But somehow I knew that he was not in my life in this world. I know my dream husband was not my real life husband and my mother was not a different version of my real life mother. They were different people. Like I had been born into a completely different life with completely different people there. |

Poseidia User ID: 1545175 United States 09/11/2011 03:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | There is an alternate reality world that I go to all the time in dreams, have gone there for years ever since a NDE. I have a whole family there, a different husband, different parents, no children but the community seems to share all the children in a way. Every time I go there I feel so loved, so happy, so at peace that when I wake up and find myself HERE I get quite sad. The people there are small and their faces are blurred, I never see their faces, feel that I am not allowed to. I personally believe it's another planet. It sounds like you either went to an alternate reality or you were aboard a spacecraft after an abduction and these are your screen memories. "I walk over and there in the bathroom was a young girl, she looked 8 but I knew she was almost 12. Her skin was very pale and you could see her veins underneath. I knew she was my daughter." This could very easily be one of the babies you miscarried. I know it sounds insane but if you're not familiar with abduction stories, your dream fits many of the criteria. Nothing to fear, they are benevolent in my experience. The universe is like a safe to which there is a combination; but the combination is locked up in the safe. ~Peter De Vries |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 4965804 Australia 11/08/2011 06:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lost my husband in January to a sudden heart attack in January this year. I've had a couple of dreams which were vivid but seem a normal part of grieving. However the most compelling incident happened last weekend. My daughter, son and I had a fun day at a water park and stayed the night at a lodge. We had planned this with and my husband would have been with us. My young son was asleep beside me and as morning came he put his arm around me. At that point I was in that phase, you know just before you really wake up. I clearly heard and felt my husband beside me. He was telling jokes and sharing experiences and laughter about the day we all had together. He was so funny. He thought he was there. I was laying on my side and told myself, don't roll over or he will go away. I smiled and basked for just a few moments in his company. In the next instant it was over and he was gone. I was doubting anything after death but not now. |

"I" was sitting on a couch in a vampire-only salooon just sitting there chatting with everyone. Giving them advice. A typical wild wild west setting. Next, I had lost most of my hair and grew the french moustache and was a very old vampire talking head [only] giving advice just as calmly as before but this time on a wooden chair w/ green plush material on it. |

Some Random Guy lol User ID: 45387709 United States 08/19/2013 01:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It has been quite a couple of years for me to get up to this point. The setting of my dreams and the atmosphere, the feel I get from "being" there, it all has become more consistent through this past month. When I dream, I go not to a specific place, rather, places I've never been to but that somehow resemble places I've been at before. The atmosphere is that of a grey-scale; by that I mean I feel anxious, yet in a state of levity and indifference. Most of my dreams consist of enclosed quarters and occasional roads and people that I recognize from my immediate reality. Nonetheless, as I have been more consistent with the atmosphere in my dreams, I am now more able to manipulate or "have a say" into what goes in my dreams. After I wake up, I am totally drained and I can barely get through the day even though I sleep between 8 and 9 hours per night. My mood has been changing up to a point that my personality is even changing little by little. I am an atheist, therefore it would make sense that I don't believe in this stuff; but I am getting up to a point where I am being able to physically feel what happens in my "dream". Last night I knew I was dreaming and I had my eyes closed, when out of nowhere this image appeared in my head as if I had my eyes opened while I was watching the right side of my bed and a lady wearing black approached me to caress my hand. As soon as I felt her hand in my hand I woke up gasping for air. Then it happens that all that I had seen in the room in my dream was in an identical state in the "real reality". That was a major WTF for me. Regardless of the nature of this experience, I am glad it happened. I've lucid dreamed through a "substance" before and I know exactly how it feels to be in complete control of your mind, your body, and every single thought. This time however, lucid dreaming wasnt the case. One last thing, I didn't feel threatened by the "lady" in my dream, in fact, I feel as if I was close to her in a "loving" kind of sense. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 45250323 Mexico 08/19/2013 01:51 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When you dream you function on a different frequency than when you are awake. This frequency usually helps you by processong what you have seen in the day and the recent past and at other points of sleep you are able to see into the future. Some weird dreams are just that whilst others are messages to help you resolve the unresolved. Did you know that many great ideas inventions and theories have come to people in dreams? There are also dreams which are created for you but not by you. These are higher entities that can hack into your dreamstate and maipulate you and even abduct your soul energy and place terrible nightmares to see how you react and to suck the life force out of you while you sleep and dimensional creatures like reptwats and succubi can manipulate you and you cannot fight back unless you awaken out of your dream if only for a minute. Also just because you miscarried doesn't mean your kids are dead, for their sould exist on the spiritual plane and they might come visit you from time to time. The order dyingout is about the shift in conciousness where even when you are asleep, you will have the power to push back the negrivr entities that harrass you during the dreamstate and they are crapping their pants because if we as physical dimension beings are connected fully to the spritual dimension then we are like gods and the baddies know it will not be good for them. |

Spiral.Spirit User ID: 50416098 United States 11/22/2013 04:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It frustrates me sometimes how people are so set that dreams are interpretations from our day, or our brain figuring out stressful situations. Some might be, but not all of them. Stop telling me my dreams mean something. I have lived 22 years on this world, and I have about 11 lives I have lived parallel to this universe the entire time. Every night I have about 4-8 dreams I remember, most of them being mundane and normal. I almost never have issues recalling dreams and I don't really have positive or negative dreams. They're just like regular days. I can also read books, clocks, phone numbers... I can read most times in my dreams. |
Philosoraptus User ID: 55395789 United States 03/09/2014 10:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | It is my theory that dreams are sufficient events at the subatomic level to allow us to cross the barrier between Hugh Everett's Many Worlds. Quantum Mechanics has empirically demonstrated that our conscious shapes reality, (Look up Down the Rabbit Hole on Youtube for a comprehensive treatment of the subject), and that just as electrons that are in superposition can be entangled across space-time, so can we (since we are composed of those electrons). Every choice we make decoheres reality into at least 2 equally real versions of reality; one in which we chose A and one in which we chose B. Normally, decoherence prevents us from perceiving these realities; if a possible choice we could make has 10 possible outcomes (all quantum states, called superposition), by a yet unknown process we will only perceive the most probable outcome of that choice 'classically' (physics on a molecular level). It is my contention that the dream state allows the mind to perceive and interact in these other quantum outcomes that are just as real as the "reality" we live in, but otherwise unknowable in our everyday waking world. I believe this is what you experienced. [email protected] |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 55300644 United States 03/09/2014 11:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm so glad you posted this. I have had a dream like that. About 3 months ago, I had a dream which I am convinced was an alternate reality. I was about 15 years younger and I was sitting alone in my apartment. I was devastated because the love of my life, my soul mate had just died. I have never felt this much anguish before. I left my apartment and noticed that I lived in the same city I live in now only things were a little different. Some businesses were the same, but some were different. I called my brother in law (my soul mate's twin) and we met up at a diner. (in this reality the diner is a thrift store) We just sat staring at each other in awkward silence, both of us so upset we couldn't talk. My brother in law's girlfriend became enraged when she found out that we had met, like I would go after my brother in law! She forbade him to see me again and then told me to back off. I even remembered a name, Travis. Though I don't know if it was my soul mate's name or his brother's name. Everything was so real, and when I woke up I didn't know where I was. I was freaked out and scared because I woke up in bed next to my husband. It took several minutes before I realized where I was. Even after a few days the memories and events of the dream seemed more real to me than my current reality. Just as an aside. Up until the dream I had never been to the thrift store, yet after my dream I visited and the entire building appears to have the same kind of dimensions my dream had. I've tried over and over to go back to that reality or dream or whatever it was since then. I am usually pretty good at doing that, but I haven't been able to get back there. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 55300644 United States 03/09/2014 11:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I just thought of this and decided to look online to see if anyone else had come up with the same theory. One reason I had this idea is that often in my dreams I recall events from past dreams (that I don't remember at all in waking life). In the dream it's like a real memory but only in that reality. As if I'm sometimes revisiting a reality that I've been to before. Quoting: Steve 12709458 Have you ever died in your dreams? I think I have quite a few times. If our theory is correct I think I've experienced my death in other realities. I have done this too. My mom passed away in 2008, but for some reason I have an ongoing series of dreams where my mom was resurrected from the dead. Every time I have one of these dreams it's like another episode where we always have to be careful of protecting her because someone wants to study her or figure out why she was resurrected. My mom is always very sick of the hoopla and just wants to get back to her normal life. When I wake up it feels like I actually visited with my mom. If I have a few of those dreams in a row I will become confused and think that my mom really was resurrected from the dead. Which is crazy! Once the fog of sleep lifts I realize just how crazy that is and I'm sad because it isn't true. |
